Hydrafacial is a unique skin treatment that delivers immediate, noticeable results  and with 60 patents and brand recognition around the world, it will keep patients returning regularly.

It’s been said that every 12 seconds a Hydrafacial treatment is performed somewhere around the world. It’s accessible and provides instant, lasting results – making it one of the smartest revenue-generating investments in an aesthetic clinic.

Hydrafacial is a no-downtime, non-invasive skin health treatment that achieves results in less than 30 minutes with no downtime. It delivers high levels of satisfaction that keeps patients returning and promotes many word-of-mouth referrals.

Unlike most other energy-based treatments and injectables, the return rate of Hydrafacial patients is weeks rather than months. Top-tier clinics in Australia and New Zealand consistently demonstrate the ability to earn back their investment in Hydrafacial every 2-3 months. The secret to Hydrafacial is a patented system that exfoliates, clears blocked pores and delivers nourishing serums. Only Hydrafacial uses patented vortex fusion technology to deeply cleanse, extract and hydrate the skin. Using specialised serums and tips, every step of the treatment is clinically effective, as well as tolerated in even the most sensitive of skins.

Easy to use; suitable for all

The latest protocols, regimen-building tools and a range of treatment options make Hydrafacial easily and readily customisable for all patients.

The recommended treatment protocol for Hydrafacial consists of cleansing, exfoliation, painless pore extraction and rejuvenating and hydrating the epidermis. Dead skin cells are removed with cleansing and exfoliation, followed by a mild AHA peel to soften the skin in preparation for extraction. The vortex suction extraction system is applied to fully decongest the skin. The nourishing element involves an infusion of hydrating serums consisting of antioxidants and hyaluronic acid applied to the skin.

Additional booster serums, including collaborations with distinguished global skincare brands, can be applied following the extraction stage to target specific skin concerns and personalise the treatment to the patient.

Each stage of Hydrafacial builds on the step before to create even better treatment outcomes. The result is a comprehensive rejuvenation without any one step being overly aggressive on the skin.

Hydrafacial comes equipped with a SmartFacial™ intuitive user interface, making protocols a breeze. The guided user interface covers all protocols and is available in a range of languages for optimal ease of use and treating confidence.

Hydrafacial is universally beneficial, recommended for all skin types, and requires no social downtime. With Hydrafacial, there’s no limitation to who your patient is; everyone is a good candidate for Hydrafacial, from acne-prone to mature complexions.

Hydrafacial as a treatment for acne-prone skin

A new clinical study1 has found Hydrafacial treatments improve acne skin concerns. Published in the December 2022 edition of the peer-reviewed Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology (JCAD), the multicentre open-label study investigated the efficacy and tolerability of the Hydrafacial Clarifying Treatment for improving skin appearance in patients who present with acne vulgaris.

100 percent of study participants reported clearer, less inflamed skin after a series of treatments with Hydrafacial’s patented vortex fusion device and blue LED light.

During the 12-week study, participants, ranging in age from 19 to 48 and with varied skin tones, received a Hydrafacial treatment from a trained aesthetician every two weeks. All participants reported a significant improvement in acne severity, finding they had fewer acne lesions and cleaner, more radiant-looking skin.

Additionally, participants reported a significant boost in confidence in their appearance at the conclusion of the study, growing from 40 percent feeling more confident after their first treatment to 100 percent, after their final treatment, the study showed.

Powerful standalone or complementary treatment

As a standalone treatment, Hydrafacial offers fast and effective skin rejuvenation, creating instantly noticeable improvements in skin tone and texture that allow patients to experience visible results much earlier than most other treatments.

Hydrafacial can also act as a powerful adjunct to other aesthetic treatments, enhancing the results of laser resurfacing, photorejuvenation, skin needling and surgery, and other advanced treatments.

In limited studies2, subjects have shown: 30% additional reduction in brown spots when paired with IPL vs IPL alone; two times firmer and smoother skin when paired with non-ablative fractional laser or fractional RF vs non-ablative fractional laser or fractional RF alone; two times smoother skin when paired with RF or focused ultrasound treatment vs RF or focused ultrasound treatment alone; and 50% smoother skin when paired with ablative fractional laser vs ablative fractional laser alone.

Clinic support

Hydrafacial invests millions of dollars annually on marketing and training, including local market support with a high level of consumer-facing activity. For example, in Australia and New Zealand alone in 2022, the local consumer campaign reached millions of potential patients and an 86.5 million total social reach.

The company offers a robust 12-week customer success program to ensure owners have success early in their journey. This includes full customer and marketing support via a dedicated Business Development Manager to ensure success.

Simply put, Hydrafacial is a treatment patients want to come back for. Additionally, treatment can be performed by skin therapists and dermal clinicians, making it a practical, profitable addition to any aesthetic medical practice. AMP

What practitioners are saying

‘Hydrafacial immediately results in a smoother, more hydrated and glowing skin. With a course of Hydrafacial treatments, the skin is brightened and we see a softening of fine lines. It is particularly beneficial in treating acne skins. The result is less congestion overall and a reduction in active acne.

The Hydrafacial technology ensures what you take out of the skin, you put back. Hydrafacial allows us to simultaneously cleanse, extract and hydrate the skin using one piece of machinery. Hydrafacial is the starting point for all skin treatments in the clinic. It is good for all skin types but allows us to cater to a younger demographic as well. It is essential in the deep cleaning process and is something that can be done during someone’s lunch hour.

Hydrafacial allows us to maintain good skin habits in-between the use of homecare products and more invasive skin treatments in clinic.’

Dr Steven Liew, Plastic Surgeon, Sydney

‘We bought our first Hydrafacial machine back in 2014 and our second one shortly after that. In an industry where trends, treatments and machines tend to come and go, Hydrafacial has endured and remains our most popular treatment. It is the backbone of our clinic, and whilst it is used as a ‘gateway-drug’ to other treatments, the stand-alone results are impressive in their own right.

The Hydrafacial technology has evolved over the years so now with the variety of tips, solutions and boosters, plus the customisable parameters of the machine, it is possible to move from a basic medical-grade Hydrafacial treatment to an advanced clinical experience, tailor-made for each skin that we see.  As a medical skin clinic we certainly see the benefits for our patients in regular monthly Hydrafacials – improved barrier function, better hydration, more even skin tone, less pigment excess – but we also see the synergism in more effective neurotoxin treatment, improved recovery from ablative laser and greater efficacy of active home skincare.’

Dr Sarah Boxley, Cosmetic Physician, Perth

‘We introduced our first Hydrafacial device to our clinics about 5 years ago and it has become a great success!

This treatment is beneficial for basically all my patients – old, young, males, females, people with problematic skin and for those who just want to rejuvenate their skin. It is especially useful as an initial treatment for those patients apprehensive about entering the world of cosmetic medicine.

I believe Hydrafacial is so well accepted and sought after due to its superior vortex fusion technology that allows a deep clean, effective exfoliation and extraction followed by hydration and support of the skin by the application of serums in a gentle

but efficient manner. Furthermore, our therapists are able to tailor the treatments with different boosters, tips and add-ons such as LED light sessions. We can now even treat other areas of the body other than the face.

Our patients love their Hydrafacial treatments because they are very comfortable (even relaxing), and they feel and look fantastic at the end. Patients love to see how much debris was extracted in the waste jar!

I partner Hydrafacial treatment with all the other treatments we provide at our clinics. The reason for this is that it helps with lines and wrinkles, elasticity and pores, skin texture, pigmentation problems, enlarged pores and oil congestion. My patients who are coming in for injectables, laser or other devices achieve a better result when they combine their treatment with Hydrafacial.’

Dr Saras Sundrum, Cosmetic Physician, Sydney

‘The Hydrafacial is one of our most in-demand treatments here at Youth Lab – it’s a firm favourite for clients and team members alike. With consistent sessions, it’s remarkable to see the changes in our clients’ skin. Acne-prone clients see a reduction in blemishes and congestion, without the stripping effect of abrasive treatments such as traditional microdermabrasion. Our clients with ageing skin see a replenishment of vital moisture.

In the short term, this creates a youthful, plump, dewy appearance to the complexion, with a reduction in fine lines and age-related textural irregularities over time.

Improvements in the tone and texture of the skin are consistent amongst Hydrafacial clients regardless of gender, skin type or age. Post-treatment, the complexion is left clean and hydrated, with debris removed from the skin. The Hydrafacial is one of our most effective tools for promoting general skin health and maintenance. Thanks to the gentle modality, we can effectively combine the Hydrafacial treatment with virtually any of our cosmetic laser treatments or clinical peels for results that are more than the sum of their parts.

Hydrafacial technology is unparalleled in its ability to clean and nourish the skin simultaneously. The patented vortex technology allows a deeper infusion of active solutions, resulting in better outcomes for our clients. Being able to adjust the suction and select tips best suited to the specific client’s skin and concerns adds a new level of personalisation. As a result, clients who visit Youth Lab for Hydrafacial treatments are amongst our most loyal. They keep coming back for the initial Hydrafacial glow as well as the long-term results.

Hydrafacial provides routine training opportunities for the Youth Lab team to keep techniques and standards consistent. Plus, with representatives for Hydrafacial in Western Australia, we benefit from invaluable face-to-face support and communication. Their support of our charitable endeavours is vitally important to our ongoing business relationship with Hydrafacial and something we highly value.’

Dr Kate Jameson, Cosmetic Physician, Perth

‘We are achieving great clinical results with Hydrafacial! Our patients report improved skin texture and tone, increased hydration and moisture retention, along with reduced acne blackheads. It is a perfect pre-event treatment!

Hydrafacial is a quick and convenient treatment that can be done in as little as 30 minutes, making it a great treatment option for busy patients seeking results.

Because Hydrafacial is a popular and effective skin treatment among consumers, it attracts new patients to our clinic. Offering Hydrafacial as a service alongside our laser and injectables also diversifies the range of the treatments we offer, providing patients with more options and increasing revenue. Providing Hydrafacial treatments enhances the reputation of our clinic as a modern and innovative practice that offers the latest in skincare technology and treatments.’
