The Australasian Society of Cosmetic Dermatologists (ASCD) held its symposium at Crown Conference Centre in Melbourne from 25-27 February.

The atmosphere at the ASCD Symposium was electric as delegates and trade mingled face-to-face for the first time since COVID restrictions caused its postponement in 2020. The scientific program was expansive, with three congruent streams of presentations and workshops across three days, and the impressive line-up of both local and international speakers ensured a high level of quality information and discussion.

Sessions included clinical topics such as anatomy, assessment, planning and tips and tricks for treatment with injectables; the good, the bad and the future of EBDs; contraindications and complications; controversies and innovations; handling emergency situations; dermatological issues; as well as social media, marketing, practice management and business.

The trade display showcased the latest technologies and products and Hanya Oversby’s Doctor Diaries had a dedicated room to record podcasts with speakers and KOLs at the meeting.

As usual, the social events were well attended and the Gala Dinner was held at the impressive Centrepiece venue at the tennis centre – the first time it was utilised privately since being purpose- built for the 2022 Australian Open Tennis.
