Young Again LED masks, distributed in Australia by MedicaL FormuLations, Are an Advanced solution for common skin concerns and an effective adjunct For more invasive procedures. Words by Caitlin Bishop.

Young Again masks harness the benefits of light therapy in a targeted and easy-to- use system. The range includes four masks, each designed to work on specific skin concerns and optimised to deliver rejuvenation and anti-inflammatory results.

The masks provide 15 minutes of focused light emission, at high pressure, on individual layers of the skin. Pain-free and non-invasive, Young Again technology offers an effective, simple solution for common skin concerns.

The design delivers direct energy from the Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) to the skin, without any light dispersion. The distance of the mask from the skin – between 5mm and 10mm – enables the skin to receive the maximum of energy emitted.

LED light targets the adenosine triphosphate (ATP) within the mitochondria of skin cells. The activation of ATP triggers a chemical reaction in the skin, enhancing cellular activity and energising the dermo-epidermis junction.

As the cellular processes are kick-started from within, results are immediately evident directly following treatment. As with any light-based therapy, these results continue to improve in the weeks following the procedure.

The Young Again system is touted to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, promote collagen and elastin production in the skin, reduce pigmentation, increase hydration, and detoxify and improve impure skin conditions.

When used as a stand-alone treatment, the masks can help smooth fine lines and wrinkles, combat acne-causing bacteria and flush toxins from the skin.

The usability of Young Again technology means the masks are a convenient and effective adjunct for more invasive procedures. Commonly used before and after surgery, the masks can help prepare the skin and optimise recovery for improved results in various cosmetic procedures.

Red Mask

Designed to stimulate fibroblast cell activity in the skin, the red mask is used or photorejuvenation and to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. The active fibroblasts generate collagen and elastin production in the dermis, contributing to a firmer and homogenised appearance following treatment. The red mask also helps in skin hydration and protection.

Blue Mask

By targeting the sebaceous glands and destroying the P. acnes bacterium, the blue mask works as an antibacterial solution in acne patients. The blue light stabilises activity of the sebaceous glands, to help clear acne and promote the healthy regeneration of the stratum corneum. It also works to calm the skin, reducing inflammation and redness.

Yellow Mask

The yellow mask is used to stimulate the lymphatic system and flush toxins from the skin. This helps reduce the appearance of dark circles under the eyes, tone puffy jowls and improve nasal congestion.

Due to the effect it has on the lymphatic system, the yellow mask is also ideal for post-operative care. It can be used to minimise swelling and optimise recovery following a surgical procedure.

Infrared Mask

This mask targets the deeper layers of the skin, penetrating to the dermis and reinforcing the skin’s foundations. Responsible for boosting collagen and elastin production, the Infrared mask can help improve skin texture, reduce the appearance of deeper wrinkles and lines, and counter cutaneous laxity.
