The 2023 edition of the Non-Surgical Symposium (NSS) was held at the Gold Coast Convention Centre on 23–25 June, hosted by the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS) in collaboration with the Australasian Society of Cosmetic Dermatologists (ASCD).

With an inclusive and diverse scientific advisory committee, including doctors, registered nurses, a dentist, a dermal clinician and with Dr Naveen Somia as Scientific Convenor, the NSS lived up to its reputation for providing an innovative and comprehensive program.

Day One included concurrent sessions on injectables, topical skincare and light-based skincare. Day Two saw further sessions on injectables and a full-day business stream. Day Three concluded the proceedings with interesting sessions on innovations in aesthetics, body contouring and laser, as well as a comprehensive session on risk mitigation.

With more than 15 international speakers peppered throughout the program, including Dr K M Kapoor (India), Dr Sherina Balaratnam (UK), Dr Eyal Kramer (Israel), Dr Giuseppe Valacchi (USA), Dr Steven Weiner (USA) and Dr Nabila Azib (Morocco), the NSS ensured that current worldwide trends and best practice were thoroughly conveyed.

Prior to the symposium, the ASAPS Anatomy for Injectors Course included both didactic and injection sessions. Industry-supported workshops also ran concurrently with hands-on sessions, covering the latest technologies and techniques from Allergan Aesthetics, Merz Aesthetics, Teoxane, Dermocosmetica, Galderma, EnVogue and SkinCeuticals.

Of course, no NSS would be complete without the opportunity to network and be entertained. The photos on this page of the Welcome Drinks and Gala Dinner show this criteria was well and truly met! AMP
