The new state-of-the-art Allergan Medical Institute (AMI) centre of excellence is now open in the heart of North Sydney’s contemporary CBD.
The AMI centre will serve as a world-class education facility for Australian and New Zealand medical aesthetic practitioners to develop and enhance their skills in aesthetic injectable treatments and fat-freezing technology. The education program is underpinned by Allergan’s portfolio of innovative and science-based aesthetic injectable products and the world’s number one non-invasive fat reduction treatment, CoolSculpting®*.
Allergan is leading the way in providing healthcare practitioners with masterclasses in clinical practice through engaging and comprehensive sessions, led by some of the industry’s leading and most experienced healthcare professionals in medical aesthetics. Focus areas of study for the training program includes patient assessment, consultation, technique, and patient safety. Associate Vice President and General Manager, ANZ, Allergan Aesthetics, Nathalie McNeil says that the vision for the new AMI Centre of Excellence is to transform and propel the aesthetics industry into its next phase, showcasing the latest in cutting-edge technology, education, and systems.
“We are proud to launch our state-of-the-art AMI Centre of Excellence Facility that has been specifically designed so that we can partner with some of the country’s leading medical aesthetic practitioners to deliver world-class education and training, ultimately, benefiting the patients whom we serve. With our preeminent AMI faculty, we are striving to set the benchmark when it comes to innovation and education in the medical aesthetics industry,” she says.
“At Allergan Aesthetics, we are committed to not just providing a portfolio of innovative, science- based products but a premium medical education program with the medical community to advance clinical excellence and improve patient outcomes,” says Ms McNeil.
Always striving to take the front foot in industry leadership and to innovate, Allergan Aesthetics have re-written its Australian and New Zealand educational syllabus.
“Together with Allergan, the AMI Faculty has created a tailored education journey for practitioners at all levels of experience which aims to inspire professional development, innovation and partnership in order to advance clinical excellence,” says Dr Cara McDonald, specialist dermatologist from Complete Skin Specialists in Melbourne and a member of Allergan’s AMI Faculty.
“This facility will revolutionise aesthetic medical education. Learning and training are the foundation for safe and effective results, and ultimately satisfied patients”, she says.
Education sessions are accessible for all including rural and remote practitioners who may not be able to travel to Sydney. Training is hosted in a clinical environment designed to replicate the spaces that practitioners are already familiar with. The facility features three high-tech, multi-purpose treatment rooms that have each been carefully designed with a different colour palette to reflect a varying range of skin tones.
Utilising the latest technology including LED focused lights to illuminate patients and high- definition cameras the bespoke treatment rooms allow for both face-to-face and offsite, virtual training.
A generous plenary area within the centre will also see the hosting of formal lectures and talks from Australian and international experts in this space.
“Practitioners will be offered several different training offerings, including AMI Fundamentals, which is foundational education for newer injectors; MD Codes for a step-by-step approach to facial revitalisation; and Masters for advanced injectors to expand their expertise,” says cosmetic physician and member of Allergan’s AMI Faculty, Dr Stefania Roberts from Victoria Vein Clinic.
“The AMI Centre of Excellence will provide an empowering education and training program for practitioners to excel in delivering the very best in aesthetic medical treatments. The future of is looking aesthetics is looking bright!” she adds. AMP
