Q&A with Mediha Zeeshan

Co-founder and CEO, Esthetica Academy

What was the impetus behind the creation of Esthetica Academy?

Since Esthetica’s inception in 2019, our main goal has been to deliver affordable education and training programs for clinics transitioning from spa-oriented services to one focussed on skin correction. As the industry evolved, the business model of beauty clinics also shifted, necessitating accessible education for those seeking to enter the skin correction sector.

Esthetica Academy identified a significant gap in the Australian market – a limited number of locally-owned companies offering a comprehensive range of aesthetic technologies. In response, we expanded our services to include the distribution of aesthetic machinery at competitive prices, complemented by a holistic package of encompassing education and ongoing support.

The driving force behind Esthetica’s establishment was the recognition that, historically, entering the skin correction market required substantial financial investment. Esthetica Academy was founded to provide an all-encompassing solution, offering a ‘white glove’ service tailored to the needs of aesthetic clinics. The company’s overarching goal is to become the leading provider of aesthetic machinery and skincare, serving as a one-stop shop for clinics looking to expand their services and take the next step in their business journey.

Since its beginnings, the team has grown exponentially, now comprising around 80 members. Our diverse team includes technical engineers, educators, marketing and sales professionals, tech support specialists and account managers, all strategically located across Australia.

What are some of the company milestones up to now?

We have onboarded over 1,500 new partners for their aesthetic tech range. In August 2022, Esthetica became an international supplier, and the team has grown by 70% to support existing partners.

Recently, Esthetica was selected as the Victorian Wholesaler of the Year for 2024 by ABIA, which is a huge milestone for the company and a major point of differentiation.

We have 288 stockists for our skincare ranges and, in early 2024, launched the distributorship of BNV Biolab exosomes, which are in great demand worldwide.

How do you select the products/ technologies you put your name to?

Recognising market demand, Esthetica has a dedicated team that constantly searches for worldwide trends to pioneer the introduction of new products to the Australian market. Another team focuses on researching clinical studies and trials of existing technologies to ensure that Esthetica’s devices feature the latest advancements.

What are the main benefits of Esthetica’s portfolio?

We are a one-stop shop with a comprehensive range of products and services to meet the needs of any business. We offer fully customisable business packages tailored to specific goals and requirements. In addition to carrying advanced devices, we provide highly active skincare products designed to complement these devices, as well as a world- class exosome range.

What are some of your key products?

Our offerings vary depending on the type of businesses we serve, as we cater to a diverse range of demographics and business needs. For medical clinics, the Picobeam, BNV Exosome range, Ulche HIFU and Ensemble RF needling devices are among the most popular.

For single operators who want to offer a variety of services such as laser hair removal, light-based skin correction and tattoo removal, we typically recommend the E-Luxx, a deluxe multi-platform device that can support a wide range of services. Additionally, the increasing demand for body contouring services has made our Sculpt X device highly popular among body contouring businesses.

Can you comment on Esthetica’s training programs and commitment to education?

Esthetica Academy originally started as a training academy before expanding into a company providing equipment. The training is delivered by dermal experts with extensive in-clinic experience. Esthetica’s education extends beyond initial workshops, which cover both theory and practical skills necessary for achieving excellent results. The company also offers ongoing training and support as part of its commitment to continuous clinical support.

Why should clinics partner with Esthetica?

Esthetica is an Australian-owned company and has the flexibility to offer affordable options. It also boasts the largest range of technology in the market, quickly bringing in-demand products to customers.

Esthetica collaborates with various businesses, including medical practices, independent beauty salons and well-established beauty clinics, providing fully tailored packages to meet their specific needs. The company also offers the longest warranties within the market, ensuring quality components and some of the lowest consumable costs available. Our commitment to customer satisfaction is what drives our continuous expansion of services, ensuring that we meet the evolving needs of our clients. AMP
