Fractora offers your clinic a flexible and multi-purpose platform to treat a variety of skin concerns.

Fractora is a breakthrough platform in fractional RF resurfacing, offering practitioners a new level of control and precision in fractional skin resurfacing and rejuvenation.

Suitable for the treatment of wrinkles, acne scars, pigmentation, skin texture improvement and overall rejuvenation, Fractora is an all-rounder treatment which boosts the skin’s collagen and elastin levels.

Fractora offers unique versatility to select between adjustable depths, densities and energies. It provides practitioners with a wide range of RF energy tip configurations, allowing treatments to be better tailored to each patient’s individual skin concerns.

Melbourne’s Dr David Topchian says there was a range of reasons he was attracted to Fractora, which he has been using in his practice since early 2015. “Fractora has been used overseas for a number of years, and numerous colleagues at international conferences recommended it to me,” he says.

“In particular, I liked the notion of one platform that could be used for a number of problems, whilst the idea of non-laser based technology was appealing from a reliability and safety point of view.

“In my opinion, the breadth of being able to treat my patients with a no-downtime device with near-ablative settings is of real clinical benefit. The icing on the cake is that it also has a fat cavitation handpiece for skin tightening and fat reduction on the body.”

What Fractora can treat

Fractora delivers RF energy to the skin, producing localised heat and small micro-treatment dots in the targeted area.

In addition to general facial rejuvenation and wrinkle reduction, the targeted treatment outcomes may include rejuvenation and tightening of skin around the jawline, neck, under the eyes, and on the cheeks and forehead. Fractora also improves skin texture and clarity.

Fractora allows for a completely customisable treatment with its range of tip configurations, densities and depths – from 300 microns to 3mm. The versatile and flexible parameters allow the user to vary the depth of ablation, coagulation and heating. Fractora can provide non-ablative to minimally ablative results up to 1mm in depth.

“Fractional devices (lasers and RF) have become popular because the recovery time and safety profile are superior to ablative devices,” says Dr Topchian. “With Fractora, the depth of injury is adjustable with three different fractional needling tips available, so that results can be matched to the patient’s acceptable downtime.”

Different tip configurations can be used within the same treatment to allow for greater customisation and coverage of patient concerns in fewer treatments with minimal downtime. “The settings are fully adjustable and the software is very easy to use and intuitive,” says Dr Topchian.

Fractora is also safe to use on ethnic skin with little risk of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), which is common with CO2 laser.

Treatment protocol

While treatment parameters will differ between patients, on average at least three treatments are recommended to observe optimal results in skin rejuvenation.

“It depends, of course, on so many factors and part of it is the ‘art’ of the right treatment. In general, patients would have 3-5 treatments using the fractional RF tip with the energy settings set at what is comfortable for the patient, and the depth depending on the application, eg, 120 pin for epidermal rejuvenation, 60 pin for epidermal/dermal remodelling, and 24 pin for deeper dermal collagen stimulation,” explains Dr Topchian.

“For pain management the standard protocols apply: oral medication, topical anaesthetic and Zimmer cooler during the procedure,” he adds.

Dr Topchian says his patients have been satisfied with the overall appearance and health of their skin after Fractora treatment, including noticeable results in rejuvenation and tightening.

Fractora is a beneficial technology to have on board, especially for combination treatments. “Clinics wanting to invest in a new technology should definitely consider Fractora,” says Dr Topchian. “It is a very clever platform with numerous benefits and low consumables.”

“It has taken us a while to get comfortable with all that it can do (it is highly versatile), but we are happy that we chose to invest in this system. I have purchased a number of machines from High Tech Laser and their outstanding service was another reason I chose them,” he concludes.

The InMode platform

Fractora is just one treatment that can be delivered within the InMode platform.

The multiple aesthetic applications allow a wide range of treatment modalities and revenue streams in one machine. Clinics can fundamentally create a complete range of non-surgical solutions, for the face and body, with one device.

“We also use Fractora Forma, which is non-invasive with no downtime and no consumable costs. It tightens skin in a gentle way and is very comfortable, which patients like,” says Dr Topchian.

“When performing liposuction, there’s also the BodyTite, NeckTite and FaceTite handpieces for tightening skin in a single treatment, with the option of removing fat too,” says Dr Topchian.

Other InMode applications include:
• Forma and Plus – non-ablative face and body skin tightening
• Lumecca – IPL for pigmentation and sun damage
• BodyFX/Mini FX – body contouring and cellulite treatment
• Diolaze – laser hair removal
• RFAL – Radio Frequency Assisted Lipolysis using BodyTite & FaceTite
