Powered by the unique NCEF Complex, Filorga offers a targeted, multi-active approach to hydration, firmness and radiance. Designed to complement aesthetic treatments, Filorga supports long-term skin health in-clinic and at home.

Laboratoires Filorga was founded in 1978 by a French aesthetic doctor with a passion for cell biology, Dr Michel Tordjman. It was born from a desire to create skincare that mirrored the science and precision of injectable treatments.

Now available in Australia and New Zealand through Cryomed Aesthetics, Filorga’s professional and at-home ranges bring clinical credibility, scientifically active formulas and visible results to the skincare offerings of modern aesthetic clinics.

Filorga includes the proprietary NCEF (New Cellular Encapsulated Factors) Complex, which incorporates 10 potent active ingredients (including amino acids, minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, co-enzymes and hyaluronic acid) used in revitalising injections to nourish and stimulate the skin’s natural regeneration process.

It is encapsulated in a delivery system of multilamellar lyposomes. These gradually release the active ingredients into the skin as they dissolve layer by layer, penetrating down to the dermis.

Q&A With Dr Jenny Kimmins
Cosmetic Physician, Melbourne

Can you tell us a bit about your clinic and your approach to aesthetic treatments?

At our clinic, we take a medically- led approach to skin and aesthetic treatments. We believe in creating treatment plans that focus on long-term skin health, combining evidence-based procedures with medical-grade skincare. Our philosophy is to help our patients achieve optimum skin health through a combination of different treatment modalities. More recently, we have found that there has been a general shift in focus to skin health and wellness in our patient cohort, and less focus on injectable treatments.

What were the key factors that influenced your decision to bring Filorga on board?

We already had experience with NCTF in our clinic, and we were interested to extend the benefits we see with NCTF into ongoing skincare.

What drew us to Filorga was the science behind NCEF (New Cellular Encapsulated Factors). It is a unique polyrevitalising complex that contains 10 potent active ingredients (including amino acids, minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, co-enzymes and hyaluronic acid) designed to improve skin quality and address the signs of ageing. The encapsulation technology helps deliver these ingredients deep into the skin for optimal penetration and efficacy.

As a bonus, the range is beautifully packaged and smells and feels very luxurious, which appealed to us as well.

We had the opportunity to trial the products in-house. The feedback from our clinicians was overwhelmingly positive, and they felt that it would be easy to integrate the products into our various treatment protocols.

THERE HAS BEEN A GENERAL SHIFT IN FOCUS TO SKIN HEALTH AND WELLNESS IN OUR PATIENT COHORT, AND LESS FOCUS ON INJECTABLE TREATMENTS.

How do you incorporate the breadth of the Filorga range into your skincare protocols?

Filorga offers an extensive portfolio, which allows us to match products to a variety of skin needs – from dehydration and dullness to loss of firmness and ageing changes such as fine lines and wrinkles.

We often incorporate Filorga into our broader treatment plans, especially following biorevitalisation, laser or injectable treatments. For example, we pair NCEF-Revitalise with laser resurfacing treatments to promote optimal skin hydration and enhance laser results. Another example is to use the Time-Filler range in between anti-wrinkle treatment intervals, to help enhance outcomes and potentially extend treatment longevity.

It’s all about creating synergy between in-clinic treatments and homecare, and involving the patient in the treatment process, so they understand the ‘why’ behind our treatments and skincare recommendations.

What types of conditions or concerns do you find Filorga is most suited to?

Filorga is excellent when it comes to improving overall skin quality, especially for patients dealing with dullness and dehydration. The range is very moisturising and is ideal for perimenopausal patients who need extra hydration and have concerns around skin firmness and wrinkles. It’s ideal for patients who want visible results but aren’t quite ready for injectables, as well as those already undergoing treatments who want to maintain or enhance their results.

Have you noticed any significant improvements in treatment outcomes or patient satisfaction?

Absolutely. Patients using Filorga as part of their regimen will often report quicker recovery post- procedure, enhanced skin glow and improved satisfaction with their overall aesthetic journey. It has also helped improve patient compliance – when they see real results from their at-home routine, they’re more likely to stick with the program, which leads to better long-term outcomes.

What advice would you give to other clinics considering products for at-home use?

My advice would be to choose ranges that not only complement your treatments but also uphold your clinic’s clinical standards and overall ethos. Look for formulations backed by science, with proven delivery systems and ingredients patients can’t get over the counter.

Make sure your team is well trained – not just to sell the products, but to educate patients on how each formula supports their specific skin goals. Make your skincare prescriptions part of a bigger strategic plan so that patients are fully committed to enhancing and maintaining their results.
