Galderma launches Alastin Skincare® in Australia, a clinically proven skincare range to support and enhance cosmetic treatment.
Known as the brand of choice for peri-procedure skincare in the US and for scientifically-backed restorative daily skincare, Alastin has proven popular with consumers and healthcare professionals alike. Outpacing the US economy is no mean feat – yet Alastin is growing at a rate six times that of the American market.2 And its growth story continues.
Founded in 2015, Alastin strategically focuses research and development on innovative products with the greatest potential impact for patients and providers. The result is an exclusive line of procedure-enhancing skincare products, clinically proven to help accelerate recovery and improve results when paired with in-office cosmetic treatments such as injectables, laser/EBDs and body contouring. Each product is scientifically proven, beginning with gene expression studies, histological evidence and finally clinical studies.
Alastin Skincare was acquired by Galderma in 2022, the world’s largest independent dermatology company. Alastin’s premium skincare portfolio is fully incremental to and synergistic with Galderma’s integrated dermatology platform.
With a shared commitment to innovation and high-quality products, the union represents an unparalleled opportunity for Galderma to better meet the needs of aesthetic professionals and patients.
TriHex Technology® – taking skin science to a new level
Alastin Skincare is based on the patented TriHex Technology®, a combination of synergistic, targeted, sequentially active ingredients that helps re-establish a functional skin matrix by removing damaged proteins/gelatin, and producing new collagen, elastin and optimising fibroblast functioning3.
TriHex Technology® is the foundation of the range and designed for the full spectrum of aesthetic care. Its key ingredients include: Tripeptide1, to support production of enzymes that remove damaged proteins from the extracellular matrix, to help minimise the appearance of inflammation and to support production of collagen; and Hexapeptide-12, to support fibroblast function and the production of elastin.
TriHex Technology has been shown clinically to promote healing and outcomes post procedures and has been demonstrated clinically to improve lipid droplet dissolution and patient-reported outcomes post procedure4. Histologically, the formulations have proven to regenerate collagen and elastin4.

Q&A with Dr Sean Arendse –
Cosmetic Physician, Melbourne
Why did you adopt Alastin Skincare in your practice?
I have heard my overseas colleagues rave about what a game- changing skincare range Alastin is, with some amazing hero products. I’m excited to offer my clients the Alastin range to experience this for themselves.
What key features make Alastin stand out?
Alastin has some unique patented technologies. These include: Trihex Technology®, a blend of active peptides and key ingredients that supports the production of new healthy collagen and elastin; and Octapeptide-45, which helps the skin’s ability to naturally increase its own high-molecular hyaluronic acid production.
The clinical research and trials show that these ingredients actually do what they say they will do and produce some amazing results – the likes of which we have not seen with any other products so far.
We have been part of the Galderma family from the day we opened our doors. Galderma has always been so supportive and responsive to us as a business with regards to injectable products. Now we get to have the same care and support when it comes to skincare.
What benefits have you been observing in treatment outcomes?
Alastin has a broad range of products which allows us to prep the client’s skin before treatment with energy-based devices and then prescribe a post-care regimen. We have observed shortened procedure downtimes and a more comfortable recovery which many of our clients have been so impressed with.
What’s your favourite product?
Regenerating Skin Nectar – it’s been designed to support the skin before, during and after cosmetic procedures. This product works in a unique way with the skin’s natural regenerative process, helping to clear damage and debris in the extracellular matrix. It then helps support the skin’s natural ability to produce new, healthy elastin and collagen and assists in improving the skin’s appearance. It’s so simple to use and can be applied immediately post-procedure to promote faster recovery and healthier looking skin.
What is patient feedback like?
Our clients have definitely noticed more radiant skin since using Alastin. We are consistently hearing from our patients that Alastin takes away the irritation they usually get post laser treatment and that it reduces the amount of itching that can follow energy-based treatments. Our patients are also reporting that the products are easy to use and non-greasy and they notice a significant reduction in healing time.
What advice do you have for HCPs interested in Alastin?
I think all HCPs should try Alastin for themselves and see first-hand why this product is a game changer and why clients are embracing it.
Q&A with Dr Edwina Morgan –
Cosmetic Doctor, Brisbane
What excites you most about this range being available in Australia?
It is no secret that the skincare industry is already saturated with choice, and that the market is expected to continue to grow, develop and innovate at a rapid rate. What excites me the most about this particular brand is that it is scientifically supported, unique and clinically efficacious. There are a select number of products to choose from within the range that are complementary to my clinic and my patients’ existing skincare regimens, and the benefits are palpable.
A good clinician needs a variety of resources in their armamentarium, in order to provide options and a holistic approach to treatment. Adding the Alastin products to my toolkit allows me to do this, with unreserved confidence that I can honour their skincare objectives.
What are the standout features of Alastin?
The standout for me is the patented TriHex Technology®, which is used in all Alastin products. This is unparalleled and isn’t just the next “buzzword” or marketing term.
The texture, application and clinical action of Alastin’s ‘hero product’, Regenerating Skin Nectar, is true to its namesake – a true nectar of rejuvenation. Its promise to rebuild, remove and replenish collagen and elastin holds true as a post-laser saviour, and has quickly become my workhorse for accelerated healing.
How do you integrate Alastin in your treatment protocols?
Each of my CO2 laser patients receives the Regenerating Skin Nectar two weeks before their scheduled laser. They are instructed to apply it morning and night to freshly cleansed skin. After laser, this regimen is maintained for 10-14 days whilst the healing process occurs.
Anecdotally, I have noticed less downtime for the patient post- procedurally, faster healing and reduced redness, affording patients a quicker return to the workplace.
What are your favourite products?
The Regenerating Skin Nectar is essential to my post-procedural repertoire, but I am looking forward to using and experiencing results with the TransFORM Body Complex which targets crepey skin and loss of skin elasticity on legs, abdomen and arms.
What are your patients saying about the products?
Patient feedback regarding accelerated healing time post laser has been extremely favourable. Reduced healing time means they are able to be public-facing sooner, and return to work and productivity within days, rather than weeks.
