PicoStar® is the latest generation picosecond technology, and delivers industry-leading advantages for pigment, tattoo removal and skin rejuvenation.

PicoStar® is a state-of-the-art laser poised to become the gold standard in picosecond technology, with the lowest pulse duration (300ps) in the industry and highest peak power of 2.7GW.

Engineered and manufactured by German laser technology company, Asclepion, and distributed in Australia by Device Consulting, PicoStar® is described as the most powerful picosecond laser on the market and offers exceptional skin rejuvenation, pigmentation and tattoo removal results. It is the only laser that has a pulse width shorter than the thermal relaxation time of the targeted pigment – a prerequisite for the successful and effective treatment of pigment.

In addition to its unprecedented pulse duration of less than 300ps, PicoStar® can operate continuously at a high speed without interruption and without the need for pre-pulsing the system before use. This makes it one of the fastest and most reliable picosecond systems on the market. The ultra-short pulses allow bursting of the pigment particles without any thermal side effects or risk of scarring.

Asclepion’s advanced technology offers a lens system that creates a uniform spot without ‘hot spots’ by distributing the laser energy in a perfectly uniform way. This results in a more comfortable treatment without the side effects of earlier picosecond systems.

With no pre-pulses, no consumables and fast, reliable treatments with impressive results, PicoStar® is raising the bar for picosecond laser technology.

Q&A with

Dr Peter Muzikants

Cosmetic physician, Áda Aesthetic Medicine, Sydney

Why did you choose to invest in the PicoStar® laser?

My decision to purchase the PicoStar® laser was easy. Technically, it has the best specs: lowest pulse duration of 300ps and under, which is significantly less than the closest competitor at 450ps; highest peak power at 2.7GW, which is especially important for treating deeper pigmentation; and a large 16mm spot size.

How does PicoStar® fit into your practice?

‘We’ve been using the PicoStar® for over 15 months now. It has become our laser of choice for the majority of our patients wishing to treat unwanted pigment. It adds many more options for treating unwanted pigment in a wider variety of skin tones and colours, especially darker skin types.

What are the main benefits of this laser?

With PicoStar®, the pulse duration is significantly shorter than other picosecond lasers, which makes a big difference in terms of results achieved.

In addition, the shape of the spot is designed to deliver the optimum coverage of the treatment area with greater efficiency, and the adjustable zoom handpiece with automatic spot detection allows flexible and easy adjustment for all applications and body regions.

Overall, the PicoStar® has won me over because of its efficiency and its ability to achieve results where other previous lasers had plateaued. It is simple and easy to operate for pigmentation, tattoos, skin rejuvenation and scar treatments. AMP

‘OVERALL, THE PICOSTAR® HAS WON ME OVER BECAUSE OF ITS EFFICIENCY AND ITS ABILITY TO ACHIEVE RESULTS WHERE OTHER PREVIOUS LASERS HAD PLATEAUED.’
