Take subdermal remodelling to new depths with InMode’s upgraded Morpheus8 body applicator, now with 3D smart frame technology for homogenous energy delivery.
Morpheus8 is a world-leading fractional RF microneedling system offering complete face and body dermal resurfacing and subdermal fat and tissue remodelling. Its clinically-proven triple action of ablation, fat coagulation and volumetric bulk heating provides practitioners with “maximum results, minimal downtime” procedures and has become a go-to treatment for patients looking for significant, but non-surgical skin tightening and tissue remodelling.
Morpheus8 is designed with dual handpieces, with a Body tip specifically designed for deep fractional coagulation of subcutaneous tissue on the body. This industry-leading technology works to tighten skin, liquefy fat and reduce the appearance of cellulite, while improving skin texture and tone.
The Morpheus8 Body tip is the first intelligent, programmable, full body fractional technology to deliver clinically proven RF energy up to a thermal depth of 8mm (7mm with an additional 1mm heat profile), with its unique large surface tip of 40 gold-coated microneedles. It is able to quickly treat 3-layers of tissue in a single pulse, covering large areas of the body at the deepest levels of RF available in the market.
New 3D Smart Frame technology for more even energy distribution
Now equipped with new 3D Smart Frame functionality, the upgraded Morpheus8 Body handpiece deploys bipolar RF energy in a sequential radiating pattern, beginning with the inner circle of microneedles and radiating outward to the middle and external rings in a single cycle. Radiofrequency energy is automatically adjusted for the distance and the number of microneedles in each ring. Sequential RF activation produces 3D tissue bulk heating and delivers more energy in a deliberate and uniform treatment pattern.
In addition, BURST mode with RF Vulcanisation technology enables Morpheus8 Body to automatically disperse RF energy to multi-level treatment depths in a single cycle. The ability to target tissue sequentially at three levels, in millisecond intervals, allows for a significant reduction in treatment times, minimises skin injury, increases treatment uniformity, and enables customised full body fractional procedures.
Q&A with Dr George Calfas
Founder of GMC Cosmedical clinics, Sydney
How long have you been using Morpheus8 and why do you choose this technology in your practice?
I had been using Morpheus8’s predecessor, Fractora, for several years before Morpheus8 hit the scene here in Australia over three years ago. I had no idea of the huge leap forward made by InMode with their new technology and I couldn’t wait to jump onboard to experience the benefits. I have not been disappointed.
What are the benefits of multi-level needle depths and why is this important?
Depth matters! If you are not in the level you need to be then don’t expect the best results. Superficially applied energies, of any kind, simply cannot transfer the levels of heat required to the subdermis for best results without first causing damage to the dermis. With the adjustable pin technology of Morpheus8, multiple layers can be addressed: you can programme it to penetrate deeply into the skin’s supporting network of fibres in the subdermis to create a 3D contraction for lift and support of sagging skin; you can programme it to target the mid and deep dermal planes to create significant neocollagenesis with 2D firming and brightening of the skin layer itself; and you can programme it to target the superficial dermal layer to stimulate neocollagenesis and ablate the superficial rhytids and visible sun damage by fractional RF resurfacing. So, all needs are met.
How does the new Morpheus8 Body 3D improve on the existing Body handpiece?
The new handpiece, Morpheus8 Body 3D, is another example of the developers listening and responding to their practitioners. The Morpheus8 Body is the largest of the Morpheus8 tips and its size made the even and smooth application of radiofrequency difficult to achieve. InMode’s engineers ingeniously developed the 3D principle, which ensures even and smooth energy application throughout. As a practitioner, better technology means better outcomes, resulting in happier patients and more referrals.
What are the standout features of the new Body 3D tip?
The 3D technology applies the same amount of energy per pulse as its predecessor, but it breaks it up into 3 consecutive pulses instead of a single pulse. The first pulse supplies the central zone, the second supplies the mid zone and the third supplies the outer zone. This way, all zones are guaranteed an equal share of energy, resulting in more predictable application and outcomes.
What kinds of results are you achieving?
Prior to this technology, there was a gap between what you could achieve using all the medical technologies available before resorting to surgery as the next step. Morpheus8 has changed this, and slots into that gap because it can give surgical-type results but without the knife. We are achieving impressive results that we could not previously, and that has opened new applications and new patient treatments we used to miss out on.
What is patient satisfaction like?
The hardest part of the treatment is the time it takes to achieve these results, in the order of several weeks, as this is the time it takes for the body to do its work! However, once kicked in and results become evident, they are impressive and patients love their results. Because of the nature and effects of this treatment, results are long lasting.
What have your dealings with InMode been like?
InMode is a technology-driven company and invest a lot into R&D. They are the ‘kings of RF’, and because they are involved in the front line of treatments, they can read the market needs and opportunities. They are also very service-oriented, offer good training and their practitioner partners can feel reassured that they are never left on their own. AMP
