Transform the skin resurfacing experience with NeoGen, a nitrogen plasma device that permeates the deeper skin layers using a novel non-ablative, non-fractionated and non-invasive technology.

Plasma skin regeneration is rapidly gaining traction for its ability to concurrently address a wide range of skin concerns, with minimal aftercare or downtime.

This novel skin resurfacing technique uses thermal energy that penetrates the epidermis and dermis at various energy levels and depths. Unlike laser, plasma skin regeneration is not chromophore-dependent, nor is it ablative, fractional or invasive. Its unique technology allows clinicians to treat the entire skin structure without vaporising or charring the epidermis, thus preventing the formation of open wounds. This offers a low-downtime treatment, consistent across all skin types, while still effectively targeting common skin concerns.

By treating the whole skin architecture, NeoGen’s advanced nitrogen plasma technology can address multiple skin concerns simultaneously. Medical-grade nitrogen gas is converted into plasma, generating controlled thermal energy that penetrates deep into the skin. This energy stimulates a cascade of rejuvenating effects, targeting wrinkles and fine lines, uneven texture, pigmentation, melasma, acne, scarring, photodamaged skin and skin laxity.

The treatment has an excellent safety profile and can be used on the face and body, including the delicate eye area. It is also highly customisable, with various energy settings, according to the needs and wants of the individual patient.

With over 50,000 NeoGen treatments performed globally, backed by 30 clinical studies and 7 FDA- cleared indications, this technology is truly noteworthy. It delivers impressive skin rejuvenation results with significantly fewer complications, risks and downtime compared with traditional skin resurfacing treatments, making it a compelling addition to the modern aesthetic medical clinic.

Q&A with Dr Kenneth Brito

Cosmetic Doctor at Dr Michael Zacharia, Sydney

Why did you incorporate NeoGen into your treatment offering, and what role does it play in your practice?

We had been searching for a treatment modality that is versatile and can address all skin types. NeoGen initially became our main workhorse in skin resurfacing for our surgical facelift and neck lift patients. Due to its efficacy, safety profile and ease of use, we now use NeoGen for most of our surgical and non-surgical patients, and particularly as part of their ongoing maintenance.

What are the main benefits of this technology you have observed?

NeoGen is non-fractionated and non-ablative but permeates to the deeper layer of skin. It can be used on all skin types with a much higher safety profile than other skin resurfacing technologies.

NeoGen delivers controlled, predictable thermal energy to all tissue components of the skin architecture. It is not chromophore- or pigment-dependent but rather targets the water in the skin, allowing good penetration and a reliable safety profile.

On a molecular level, NeoGen also opens a track into the dermis, which allows other treatment modalities such as serums and growth factors to penetrate more effectively.

What are the advantages of plasma energy for heating of tissue?

Nitrogen plasma energy treats the whole surface and deeper skin layers while leaving the epidermis completely intact. It is even suitable to use on the eyelids. The plasma energy is transferred via thermal conduction in tissue water. Oxygen is purged from the skin surface by the plasma, preventing burns.

For which indications do you use NeoGen, and what kinds of results are you seeing?

NeoGen can be used in the following indications: dark spots and age spots, facial and non-facial rhytides, scars, including acne scars, active acne, rosacea, large pores, stretch marks, melasma, atopic dermatitis, actinic keratosis and psoriasis.

In our clinic, results have been incredible, especially when used with our combined treatments and protocols.

How do you use NeoGen in conjunction with other treatments?

NeoGen can be used as standalone treatment, however, in our clinic, we almost always use it in conjunction with other treatments to maximise and achieve the best possible outcome.

What are your patients saying about their NeoGen treatments?

Our patients love the results. The best part is the results get better and better over time.

For high-energy treatments, depending on the indication, typically once a year is suffice.
For low-energy settings, I usually recommend three treatments, one month apart.

Any advice for practitioners considering NeoGen for their practice?

I think a lot of practitioners will find this technology useful to add to their portfolio. It is a powerful modality with an excellent safety profile for all skin types and an ideal complement to your practice. AMP
