Advanced thermal coagulation point technology
Creating accurate and consistent thermal coagulation point (TCP) quality determines the performance of MMFU-based equipment – and is the reason many aesthetic practitioners choose Ultraformer.
Micro pulsed technology, an advanced MMFU technology, creates a thermal coagulation point 25 times finer than existing MMFU technology to deliver superimposed energy to the treatment area and enable dense treatment. It does this by dividing the TCP generation into micro-units, a technological leap that ensures the precision and quality of the coagulation process.
Existing MMFU technology utilises thermal energy made of 17 dots within a treatment length of 25mm. The new series’ MPT mode generates 417 TCPs within a treatment length of 25mm. Practitioners can precisely target treatment areas, minimising the impact on surrounding tissues and delivering best-in-class results.
Infinitely expandable
Infinitely expandable with three handpieces and 10 interchangeable transducers, the MPT’s versatility empowers doctors to address a wide range of aesthetic concerns, from skin laxity and wrinkles to facial contouring and body sculpting. Multi-select MMFU modes include Normal, Micro Pulse (MP), Circular and Micro Circular, which can easily be changed with one touch of the screen.
Ultra-booster handpiece
One of the most anticipated additons to the Ultraformer MPT is the Ultra-Booster Handpiece. A technological innovation that gives the MPT a clear advantage. With three cartridges offering depths of 1.5mm, 3.00mm and 4.5mm that can be used in MP Mode and Normal Mode this next generation MMFU is designed for optimal efficiency and unprecented precision in areas of the face that were previously more difficult to treat.
The Ultra-Booster handpiece is used in conjunction with the Deep Synergy Booster serum, an innovative and complex serum exclusive to Ultraformer MPT. A groundbreaking formulation with a synergistic blend of 57 active skin ingredients including 7 Hyaluronic Acids, 10 Multi-Peptides, and 17 Amino Acids together with a blend of antioxidants for enhanced treatment results including skin tightening, brightening, firming and hydrating.
2.5x faster treatment
Another key advantage is that MPT treatment is more than 2.5x faster than current MMFU treatment. It significantly reduces treatment time and eliminates the need for transducer recalibration.

What are the major breakthroughs of the new Ultraformer MPT?
There has been significant evolution of Ultraformer with the MPT. Treatment is faster, and with clever changes in delivery it is less painful while also being more effective without compromising safety.
Technological updates include a greater density, but not size, of the thermal coagulation points, which is where the skin benefits begin. The flexibility of modes (normal vs micro-pulsed mode) and its many handpieces of various targeting depths and types also allows for more tailored and targeted treatments.
The reduced perception of pain allows patients to comfortably and quickly get through planned treatments without compromise. This is a big plus.
I also really appreciate the added benefits of ultrasound-enhanced cosmeceutical delivery with the Ultra-Booster handpiece. I believe this area of ‘drug delivery’ is going to quickly expand and evolve in the coming years. Traditional ultrasound gels will be replaced by tailored gels specific to each patient’s treatment needs.
The gentle ultrasound-based Ultra-Booster handpiece not only assists active ingredients to pass through the skin’s tough outer barrier but also makes sure they enter the skin’s living cells more easily to produce desired clinical benefits. It can be used to enhance the changes induced by ultrasound or as a synergistic treatment for added visible and/or skin health benefits.
How does micro pulse technology more efficiently deliver ultrasound energy?
Micro pulse technology is faster and provides a greater density of smaller focused points of energy. This treats a larger tissue volume but still in a fractionated way. The smaller focal treatment areas enhance remodelling of the greater amount of immediately adjacent skin components. This allows for a greater amount of collagen contraction plus new collagen production and remodelling.
How does Ultraformer MPT allow for more tailored treatments?
In a single treatment, we can utilise multi-depth cartridges using both normal and micro pulsed modes, which offers flexibility to truly customise treatment to each patient – even before incorporating the Ultra-Booster handpiece’s potential for tailored cosmeceutical delivery.
The MPT offers layered and multi-modal treatment. You can target unwanted fat such as jowls or double chin while tightening and lifting skin, which makes this a great option for both sculpting these areas and also improving the skin’s appearance and quality.
Up until now, we focused on the head and neck with our Ultraformer. The MPT and its added comfort and speed, plus extra handpieces and flexibility, has changed this so that we can now more easily and effectively treat the chest, abdomen and arms, etc – from targeting cellulite to contouring and/or improving skin quality both on and off the face.
How does Ultraformer MPT allow for better tolerability and results?
In the past, our medical professionals sometimes struggled to deliver optimally effective treatments using micro-focused ultrasound in our sensitive patients. Discomfort and the long duration of treatments were a compromise and often required breaks, treatment modifications and analgesia.
The Ultraformer MPT is a great device to use for improved results and better tolerated treatments, including default protocols and more customised treatmetns. With all the options the MPT offers, our treatments are continuing to evolve as we aim to get more from this device and to tailor what we do to better address patients’ needs.
Previously, we tended to do more combination treatments with Ultraformer, but with the MPT people are seeing an immediate change in their skin (well before the full benefits develop over the next 3-6 months). With the Ultra- Booster handpiece and its options to improve skin quality and deliver actives, patients really notice differences even before they get up from the treatment couch.
What excites you most about this new iteration of Ultraformer?
I think the most exciting thing about the Ultraformer MPT is that just by following default treatment protocols we can deliver better results more comfortably for patients. The flexibility of the device with its many cartridges and handpieces, along with modes and the ability to combine these, has opened up new ways for our treatments to continue to improve over time as we learn more about how we can maximise and target benefits to address patient concerns. I really like a device where I know we can do better and better over time. The Ultra-Booster handpiece and its first serums are also just the beginning of a new evolution in active delivery and tailored treatments.
We continue to learn more about the importance of fascia (SMAS), which has many physiological and biomechanical roles beyond just supporting, lifting and shaping our appearance. The fascia also assists with muscle, lymphatic and immune functions along with blood flow.
Improving fascia health can have benefits beyond the cosmetic. We are just learning about the benefits of targeting of senescent (fibroblasts and myofibroblasts) cells and other ageing skin changes beyond enhancing collagen production. How we ideally target the SMAS and fascia layer should differ from our aims when we correct and reduce age-related dermal changes. The skin’s upper dermis is not only important for skin texture and appearance, such as pores and wrinkles, but is also important in influencing the health of the skin’s surface epidermal layer, including uneven pigmentation and luminosity or glow.
Targeting these deeper skin layers with the Ultraformer MPT’s Ultra- Booster drug delivery transducer is an exciting development in tailored cosmeceutical use and a welcome and beneficial addition to our treatment offering. AMP
