It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr Ronald Moy, a highly esteemed figure in dermatology and facial cosmetic surgery.
Dr Moy was internationally recognised for his work in skin health, dermatologic surgery and anti-ageing science. As a former President of both the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, he was a leader who helped shape modern aesthetic dermatology and championed rigorous clinical standards and innovation throughout his career.
Based in Beverly Hills, Dr Moy performed over 30,000 cases of facial plastic surgery over the past 25 years of clinical practice, while publishing more than 200 scholarly articles. He was not only a sought-after surgeon but also a tireless researcher and educator. His work on DNA repair and skin rejuvenation was groundbreaking, and his contributions to the development of topical skincare backed by clinical science made a lasting mark on the field.
Many Australian practitioners had the opportunity to learn from Dr Moy at global congresses and through his published work. He generously shared his knowledge, advocating for treatments that preserved and restored the health of the skin, not just its appearance.
Dr Moy will be remembered not only for his many professional accomplishments but also for his warmth, humility and lifelong dedication to improving patient outcomes. His legacy continues through the countless doctors he mentored and the lives he changed.
We extend our condolences to his family and colleagues and the wider aesthetic community.
