The Sunday program of this year’s Non-Surgical Symposium (NSS) is not to be missed. A BTL Rejuvenation Breakfast, wellness chat, Cryomed sponsored workshop, masterclass on ethical cosmetic practice, and sessions on ethical advertising for cosmetic procedures, and the new cosmetic procedure regulations.

Sunday morning will begin with a candid discussion with Dr Lily Vrtik and Bek Woodbine from the Tenderness for Nurses podcast, covering topics such as boundaries within the cosmetic industry and building resilience to cope with the changes and current pressures within the cosmetic industry.

Following on, Sunday at the 2024 NSS will include presentations on The Ethics of Cosmetic Practice (Dr Lily Vrtik, Specialist Plastic Surgeon), Ethical Dilemmas in Cosmetic Injectables (Dr Giulia D’Anna, Dentist and Cosmetic Injector), and Poor patient outcomes, lessons to be learnt (Anita East, Author and Nurse Practitioner).

The second Sunday session involves Medicolegal implications of false and misleading advertising (Annabel Herron, Senior Risk Adviser at Avant), and Advertising cosmetic procedures (Michael Fraser and Maddison Johnstone, Advocates at Operation Redress)

The final session of Sunday, and close of the Non-Surgical Symposium for 2024, includes an update from the Medical Board of Australia regarding the new guidelines (Dr Anne Tonkin AO, Chair of the Medical Board of Australia), information on the AHPRA guidelines on non-surgical cosmetic procedures (Jason McHeyzer, National Director of Cosmetic Surgery and Compliance, AHPRA), and a panel discussion chaired by Dr Tim Edwards (President of the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons – ASAPS) and Dr Amira Sanki (Vice-President of ASAPS).

In a challenging and changing environment for the non-surgical aesthetics industry, these sessions are significant to ensuring cosmetic practitioners are well informed to provide ethical and compliant treatments to their patients.

Please note that the NSS Sunday presentations, panels and masterclass will not be later available on-demand. You must be in attendance to gain this valuable information, insights and learnings.
