The Non-Surgical Symposium (NSS) returned to the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition centre for 3 days of best-in-class education and a glittering social program.

Held on 14-16 June, the highly anticipated Non-Surgical Symposium (NSS) 2024 unfolded on the picturesque Gold Coast, drawing an impressive gathering of over 1,200 professionals from the aesthetics industry, including esteemed local and international speakers, delegates and exhibitors. The 3-day event encompassed concurrent streams in facial aesthetics, skin and business, offering delegates an unmissable opportunity to learn and network with the best in the industry. The Symposium included enlightening presentations, panel discussions, masterclasses, workshops and an injecting village, curated by the NSS Scientific Advisory Committee, led by Scientific Convenor and specialist plastic surgeon Dr Naveen Somia.

NSS 2024 boasted more than 75 presenters, 13 international speakers, 8 sponsored workshops and 65 exhibitors – making this year’s event one of the most well-attended on record.

This year’s theme, ‘Ethical and Evidence-based Good Practice’, resonated deeply, with many presentations addressing the new Ahpra and TGA guidelines. In light of the evolving regulatory landscape, several sessions and masterclasses were focused on the ‘art of the consultation’, ‘ethical cosmetic practice’, ‘ethical advertising for cosmetic procedures’, as well as an update on the new guidelines and regulations from Anne Tonkin, Chair of the Medical Board of Australia and Jason McHeyzer, National Director, Cosmetic Surgery and Compliance at Ahpra.

Interspersed between the discussions on the new regulatory framework was a diverse array of topics catering to the multifaceted needs of the aesthetics industry, including injectables, energy- based devices and skincare, offering a comprehensive exploration of the latest advancements and best practices in the medical aesthetics industry. Sessions included new techniques and technologies in facial aesthetics and body contouring, menopause and skin changes, new AI-controlled modalities, non-surgical hair restoration and the latest in exosome therapy. Additionally, business coaching sessions provided invaluable insights into strategic planning, marketing and operational excellence, empowering attendees to elevate their practices to new heights.

The social events at NSS 2024 lived up to their impeccable reputation, providing ample opportunities for attendees to connect, network and celebrate in style. The festivities kicked off with the lavish Welcome Drinks on Friday night and culminated with Saturday’s ‘Night of Fashion’ gala dinner. This fabulous ode to the Met Gala saw guests donned in their finest and dancing the night away in a celebration of the industry’s passion, creativity and commitment to excellence. AMP
