InMode’s annual Inspire event at Sydney’s Sofitel, Darling Harbour in October, celebrated the rise of minimally invasive and non-invasive aesthetic treatments, led by the company’s flagship treatment Morpheus8.
Attendees were treated to a day of insight and discussion with leaders in their fields from across Australia and around the world, led by renowned plastic surgeon Dr Pier Paolo Rovatti.
Dr Rovatti reflected on his 40 year career in cosmetic medicine in Europe and how far the technology has come, enabling clinicians to deliver better results for their patients in less time and for a lower cost.
He compared the shift away from invasive surgery to changes seen across all aspects of medicine.
“Times are changing and doctors in all fields have moved to less invasive treatment methods, take keyhole surgery for example,” Dr Rovatti said.
“We are moving on from treatments that leave patients with scars and long recovery times because the results from InMode’s minimally invasive treatments are fantastic”.
Dr Rovatti celebrated the increasing interest in tightening treatments including BodyTite, EvolveX and Morpheus8 that has led to a reduction in demand for liposuction.
“Many years ago patients would undergo liposuction and a few years later they would be back, with saggy skin. That’s not a problem anymore,” he said.
An KOL in the area of women’s wellness, Dr Aman Bhinder shared her experience with InMode’s Empowerplatform, explaining how the treatment is changing women’s lives for the better.
Dr Bhinder explained her passion for recognising and treating symptoms relating to perimenopause and menopause.
“Issues like low libido, vaginal dryness and urinary incontinence are still considered so taboo,” she said.
“Four in ten women suffer from sexual dysfunction as a result of menopause but only one in 10 will talk to a GP about it. Sadly, the rest just think it’s something they have to live with as they get older.”
Dr Bhinder explained how Empower uses fractional radiofrequency, bipolar radiofrequency and intravaginal electrical muscle stimulation to tighten and remodel the pelvic floor and vaginal wall.
“Many of the women I treat have struggled for years, either with incontinence or sexual dysfunction, not to mention the mental health challenges that come with that and the strain it can put on relationships. They are shocked at how much their life improves after undergoing treatment,” she said.
Senae Travers of Skin Bottega, Melbourne led discussions on managing a body contouring business with EvolveX and Morpheus8 explaining both treatments are in huge demand because of the great results achieved with minimum downtime. She said technology in the beauty industry has become so advanced, it’s attracting people who in the past would never have considered treating areas of their body they are not comfortable with.
While James Vivian explained how he has transformed his business and elevated his practice with InMode technologies.
Rounding out the day, Canadian Optometrist, Dr Bruce Dornn discussed InMode’s move into the world of ocular care, through its Envision platform, a world first treatment for dry eye, using bipolar radio frequency and IPL to restore a patient’s ability to produce their own tear film.
“The human eye is one of the most important sensory organs, extracting and processing more than 10 million pieces of information per second and blinking 15-20 times per minute on average, but blinking decreases to six times a minute while on screens, which can lead to dry eye,” he said.
“In Canada the adoption rate of Envision by optometrists is extremely high as they shift away from using drops and steroids to instead treating the cause of dry eye and rejuvenating glands around the eye using the InMode technology.”
Inspire celebrated InMode’s position as a world leader in aesthetic medicine and women’s wellness, with insightful discussions and inspiring success stories leaving the room excited about the future, with new developments on the horizon for the industry.
