This year’s symposium, held on March 21-23 at the Crown, Melbourne, shone the spotlight on innovation in cosmetic and procedural dermtaology.

The Australasian Society of Cosmetic and Procedural Dermatologists (ASCPD) – formerly known as the Australasian Society of Cosmetic Dermatology (ASCD) – brought together the brightest minds in procedural and aesthetic dermatology for its annual symposium.

The 2025 program featured a standout international faculty, including Dr Ofir Artzi, Dr Sonia Batra, Dr Sherrif Ibrahim, Prof Billur Sezgin Kizilok, Dr Jeong Seo Kim, Dr Sylwia Lipko-Godlewska, Dr Boncheol Leo Goo, Dr Siew Tuck Wah and Dr Thomas Hitchcock. Each brought global perspectives on evidence-based techniques, patient safety and novel approaches to treatment.

The event also marked a historic moment in the Society’s evolution. During a dedicated press conference, President Prof Greg Goodman AM formally announced the organisation’s new name: Australasian Society of Cosmetic and Procedural Dermatologists (ASCPD). The updated title and new logo reflect the ASCPD’s broader procedural focus and its commitment to unifying dermatologists working across both cosmetic and procedural disciplines.

Alongside the intensive three-day scientific program, hands-on workshops and ‘Breaking Boundaries’ masterclasses gave attendees the opportunity to hone practical skills, covering techniques from laser applications to specialised injectables training. Of particular interest was the growing focus on cross- disciplinary technologies such as robotics, imaging and predictive analytics, with futurist Craig Rispin delving into how AI is reshaping the landscape of aesthetic medicine.

As Australia’s aesthetics industry continues to evolve, the ASCPD Symposium reaffirmed its position as a trusted, clinician-led forum for continuing education, clinical excellence and peer-to-peer collaboration. AMP
