After the disappointment created by covid pandemic postponements, Aesthetics 2022 greeted an enthusiastic audience with its stated aim ‘to share, to learn, to advance together’.

The Sydney Hilton welcomed a high-energy event with gems of knowledge shared from the outset. The two and a half day educational event provided an interactive platform where practitioners of aesthetic medicine could participate in learning more about selected aspects of non-surgical aesthetic medicine.

There was an emphasis on the practical characteristics of daily practice, with the program focusing on areas relating to injectables, skin health and associated therapies, thread lifting, and the application of various devices, technologies and laser therapies.

Traditional academic presentations were kept to a minimum, with Dr Stefania Roberts’ program opener ‘Bring the sexy back in botulinum toxin learning’ followed by the ‘Welcome and Thank you’ and the introduction of the convenor, Dr Steven Liew.

Live demonstration sessions featured prominently through the program, covering topics such as ‘The Periorbit’, ‘Temple and Forehead’ and ‘Total Face’ (challenges that saw presenters limited to treatments with either one, three or five syringes). Other highlights included the ‘Skin School’, highlighting devices to treat different indications, ‘The Panels’ and ‘New or coming soon’ sessions.

International presenters included Dr Alessandra Haddad (Brazil), Dr Dalvi Humzah (UK), Dr Herve Raspaldo (France), Dr Tahera Bhojani-LynchSachin (UK), Dr Tatjana Pavicic (Germany), Dr Lee Walker (UK), Dr Michael Kane (USA), Dr Patrick Treacy (Ireland) and Dr Rungsima Wanitphakdeedecha (Thailand). Local stalwarts included Dr Peter Callan, Dr Davin Lim, Dr Van Park, Dr Cara McDonald, Dr Nikki Talic, Prof Philip Bekhor and Dr Stefania Leone. AMP
