Online reviews and ratings are becoming the No 1 factor in shaping your brand reputation and are a key way for new patients to find you.

More patients than ever are turning to online doctor and practice reviews to search for practitioners. Approximately 85 percent of consumers are now at least ‘moderately likely’ to choose a doctor over another based on high ratings and positive reviews.1 What’s more, patient reviews on third-party sites are considered by Millennials as the main criteria when selecting a doctor.2

Research studies suggest that online reviews are more trustworthy and useful than branded social media content, advertising and even natural search engine results.3 Having an online profile and positive patient feedback is now not only advantageous, it’s a necessity.

Reputation marketing: the new way to shape your brand

Online reviews and ratings are a major factor in shaping your brand reputation — and a key way for new patients to find you. Specifically, online reviews and ratings heavily influence consumers’ purchase decisions. According to forbes.com, the benefits of an active and positive review profile are hard to overstate, and the reason is simple: 84 percent of people trust online reviews as much as a personal recommendation.

With today’s discerning aesthetic patient, it’s not enough simply to have a website and social media accounts – to actively build your presence, it’s imperative to utilise industry-specific platforms where patients seek information about you.

AestheticAdvisor.com.au serves as a channel for patients to share their feedback and experiences throughout their cosmetic enhancement journey, and for others to read reviews to help in their decision-making process.

Additionally, by claiming your listing on AestheticAdvisor, not only can your patients write reviews and testimonials about you and your services but you will also improve your search engine performance and increase your practice’s visibility to new patients.

What’s the law?

The National Law states that a health professional must not advertise a regulated health service in a way that uses a testimonial or purported testimonial.

However, the National Law does not stop consumers providing feedback or reviews in social or other media such as third-party review sites. Consumers are free to share their views and experiences online and elsewhere, for example, by posting a review. A review on a third-party website or platform that the advertiser does not control is not considered advertising.*

AestheticAdvisor is your trusted thirdparty review site whereby your patients can now share their positive experience of you and your practice within the confines of the National Law. This is a new way for prospective patients to reach you and a powerful tool in influencing their choice of aesthetic practitioner.

6 ways to encourage your patients to leave a review

1 Ask your patients directly to write a review

According to BrightLocal Marketing, 7 out of 10 people will provide an online review … if they are asked. Simply ask your patient to write a review on AestheticAdvisor.com.au. To make it even easier, all of our “Expert Listing” practitioners will receive a free Lenovo laptop for patients to leave a review right then and there in your clinic.

2 Link to your online listing

on AestheticAdvisor.com.au from your website Use your website to direct patients to your listing on AestheticAdvisor. com.au by adding links and clickable images on your website.

3 Go old school

Have review cards printed and displayed in your office and reception for patients to take home with them. You can add your logo and practice information as well as a link to your AestheticAd-visor listing and even some pointers to help them get started. You can also add your listing link to appointment cards and take-home care instructions. (P.S. Ask us about designing review cards specific to you and your practice.)

4 Follow up with an email

Most practitioners send follow-up emails to their patients after a procedure or to simply check in with them. This is a great opportunity to ask them to leave a review on your AestheticAdvisor listing about their experience.

5 Get creative and make a thank-you video

Send a thank you video via email to patients after visits. Thank them for coming in and make sure to include a call to action to leave a review under your AestheticAdvisor listing. A simple video taken on your smartphone will do the job.

6 Go social

Social media is a great way to stay connected with your patients and share updates about your practice – it’s also a great place to ask them for reviews. Make a post linking directly to your list-ing on AestheticAdvisor asking your patients to share their experience and help others on their cosmetic enhancement journey.
