iS Clinical delivers highly effective, clinically Validated skincare products that offer dramatic Visible improvements to the skin.

Advancing the science of skin health, iS Clinical by Innovative Skincare is an advanced pharmaceutical-grade cosmeceutical range using 95-98% botanically derived ingredients in their most purest and potent form.

The comprehensive product line is the culmination of precise chemical formulations based on extensive knowledge of dermatological biochemistry and the highest-grade ingredients available. The products within the range are multitasking, suitable for all skin types and ages, and designed to improve overall skin health.

Clinically validated by numerous independent third-party studies*, this powerful transformative cosmeceutical range is designed to achieve dramatic and visible improvements to the skin. Due to its high concentration of botanically derived ingredients, iS Clinical is not systemically absorbed and can be used in pregnancy and by oncology patients.

The range has become synonymous with advanced clinical skincare and is organically endorsed by Hollywood A-listers and celebrities, including Chrissy Teigen and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. With the Australian launch of the cult brand, practitioners here in Australia now have the opportunity to offer this groundbreaking cosmeceutical line to their patients.

Clinical validation

As a brand known around the world for developing innovative techniques and successful formulas for a range of skin issues, iS Clinical has built its reputation on scientific research and clinical results. All products in the range are designed to promote healthy skin function at a cellular level, and the company is committed to incorporating the highest level of clinical validation in all of its products with numerous clinical studies attesting to the efficacy of its formulations.*

A key fundamental point of differences is that iS Clinical has independent clinical studies on the FINAL formulations of their products, rather than on a single key feature ingredient. This is important to note, as a study on a single ingredient and not the final formulation begs the question: is that key ingredient effective in its performance when placed with other ingredients in the final formulation of a product? All iS Clinical products have been formulated in a way that use multiple active ingredients (usually 8+ ingredients minimum) which are proven to work synergistically to improve efficacy. Importantly, this translates to products that are multi-tasking and multi-functioning, addressing not just one skin concern but a multitude of skin concerns.

Advancement in DNA repair enzymes: Extremozymes®

Combining the best of advanced scientific formulations with naturally derived ingredients is at the forefront of today’s skincare and the modern consumer.

iS Clinical has harnessed the power of Extremozymes®, a proprietary combination of extremophilic enzymes, clinically proven to help protect and revitalise the foundation of healthy skin by combating moisture loss, dehydration, radiation, heat, cold and free radical damage.

Extremozymes® are enzymes produced by plants living in extreme environments (extremophiles) that assist survival and adaptability. Extremophiles have developed a variety of ingenious survival strategies allowing them to regenerate, metabolise and reproduce in spite of very difficult environmental conditions. Their enzyme systems, extremozymes, protect vital biological macromolecules, cells and chromosomal DNA from damage by external stresses.

In a White Paper on Extremozymes® by Dr Charlene DeHaven, Clinical Director of Innovative Skincare, Dr DeHaven notes that methods of protection include unique configurations of protein folding, protection from dehydration by incorporation of sugar molecules and biochemical means of cushioning and shielding DNA. ‘The genetic adaptations of extremophiles and their extremozymes have profound functional applications to skincare,’ she says. ‘Over time, environmental conditions have a very noticeable and disastrous effect on our skin. Nature’s miracles of adaptation can also be used to protect human skin from damage caused by environmental extremes.’

iS Clinical has drawn from the natural selection processes of specialised extremophilic organisms, pioneering a new way to protect, revitalise and enhance the foundation of healthy skin, while supporting multi-level protection and long-term visible improvements.

Growth factors, SODs and botanicals

Growth factors are peptides-protein chains composed of amino acid building blocks. Short peptide chains that penetrate skin have been shown to exhibit activity which is bio-identical to human growth factors. Some of these benefits include encouraging collagen synthesis, repairing wounds and stimulating stem cell activity; all helping to produce healthier, younger appearing skin.

One of the standout ingredients in the iS Clinical range is Copper Tripeptide-1 Growth Factor, found in seven products in the range. This protein is bio-identical and has been clinically proven to stimulate the synthesis of collagen in skin fibroblasts and increase accumulation of total proteins, glycosaminoglycans and DNA in dermal wounds. The Copper Tripeptide-1 sequence is present in collagen and it is suggested that it is released after tissue injury. Copper Tripeptide-1 also increases synthesis of decorin, a small proteoglycan in the regulation of collagen synthesis, wound-healing regulation and antitumour defence.

Superoxide dismutase (SOD) is also used extensively in the range, formulated within a unique proprietary combination of extremozymes including Trehalose, Arginine Ferulate, plankton extract and lecithin. This uniquely designed enzyme absorbs harmful free radicals to combat photoageing and cell damage while protecting the skin against future damage. While many non-enzymatic antioxidants are destroyed during antioxidant activity, this version of SOD defends itself and the skin from harmful aggressors that cause skin ageing.

iS Clinical in the clinic

It is important to optimise skin health before a cosmetic procedure – as the barrier function of the skin improves, recovery after cosmetic treatment is accelerated. iS Clinical products are pharmaceutical-grade cosmeceuticals designed to support the healthy function of skin and strengthen the skin barrier.

For post-procedure care, Sheald Recovery Balm can safely be applied on compromised skin, and even directly onto an open wound, to expedite healing and increase patient comfort. A clinical study on the effectiveness of iS Clinical Sheald Recovery Balm plus Cleansing Complex after fractionated laser procedures saw improved peeling and flaking by 41 percent following the use of Sheald Recovery Balm and Cleansing Complex, while re-epithelialisation was measured by a 54 percent improvement in rapidity of growth of new overlying epithelium in the treatment area. No adverse effects including redness, irritation, stinging, burning or itching were reported when Sheald Recovery Balm was placed on open skin. Physicians reported an increased rate of healing and significantly improved downtime.

Using a global approach to research and development, the iS Clinical range combines botanical medicine with advanced scientific formulation, delivering clinically validated results to improve skin health in all skin types and patient subsets. AMP

iS Clinical

Multitasking treatment serums

iS Clinical believes skincare should include four essential elements: Cleanse, Treat, Hydrate and Protect.

In the treat category this includes a serum/complex that is specifically chosen to address the patient’s skin concerns. iS Clinical formulations provide a synergistic approach to maximising results by combining ingredients that increase cell turnover, such as AHAs and BHAs, plus the addition of retinol and potent antioxidants. These multitasking products help to imperceptibly shed dead skin from its surface and improve skin functionality.

AHAs penetrate the skin, and help stimulate collagen production and cell turnover. AHAs may also reduce the size of enlarged pores, which are commonly seen in acne-prone skin, as well as reduce acne scarring. BHAs can reach deeper into the pores to remove dead skin cells and excess sebum. This helps to slough off dead skin and facilitate new cell turnover.

Glycolic acid, a type of AHA, is especially well researched in its ability to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, as well as protect the skin and prevent new wrinkles from forming.

Every option in the iS Clinical collection offers potent pharmaceutical-grade botanicals combined into powerful formulas and are designed to promote healthy skin function at a cellular level.
