Spectra XT by Lutronic is renowned as the world’s No 1 Q-switched Nd:YAG laser.

“It is a little known fact that Spectra is the biggest selling Nd:YAG laser system in the world,’ says eminent US plastic surgeon Dr Steven Weiner. ‘It does everything from treating tattoos, pigmentation, all types of congenital nevi and more. Additionally, the system’s Hollywood Peel is a very quick, no downtime procedure to rejuvenate the face.”

With the ability to provide a full range of applications, Spectra XT delivers industry-leading dependability, versatility and results. It is truly a dynamic platform with endless possibilities.

The dual-pulsed Q-switched Nd:YAG laser facilitates second-generation Gold Toning (595nm) for melasma, erythema and acne, RuVY Touch (660nm) for pigmented lesions, Laser Toning (1064nm) PTP mode for melasma, Tattoo Removal (1064nm, 532nm, 585nm, 650nm), in addition to Revital Treatments (1064nm quasi-long pulse) for collagen remodelling and inflammatory acne, and the highly popular Hollywood Laser Peel (1064nm) for skin rejuvenation.

“Lutronic’s advanced dual mode Nd:YAG Spectra laser will bring your practice amazing treatment versatility, including treatments for melasma, tattoo removal, non-ablative resurfacing, as well as pigmented lesions. Our patients are very happy with their results. Additionally, its two dye headpieces are excellent choices for various coloured tattoos,’ says prominent US dermatologist Dr Mitchel Goldman.

Power + innovation + dependability

Spectra XT is a high power (1600mj) practice workhorse, offering 6 wavelengths, large spot size (10mm), multiple pulse durations (QS 5ns and Spectra mode 300μs) as well as the proprietary Hollywood Laser Peel mode.

In terms of ease of use, the auto-calibrating system is highly intuitive, with auto-sensing hand piece and spot size parameters, as wells user-programmable parameters. It is also equipped with a smooth function arm to reduce operator strain.

Second generation ‘Gold Toning’ 595nm for erythema, acne and melasma

Spectra XT is the first Q-switched Nd:YAG laser cleared for the treatment of melasma. It enables practitioners to treat all types of pigmentation with minimal discomfort and a high degree of safety in all skin types, without compromising on pulse fluence energies.

“For melasma patients, one of my treatment choices is now Laser Toning with Lutronic Spectra XT laser. I have seen excellent results with the low level approach with the 1064nm Q-switched Spectra laser. My patients usually see improvement after 4 to 6 weeks from the initial session,” says Belgian dermatologist Dr Christine Dierickx.

The Spectra XT Gold Toning handpiece is used to treat acne, facial flushing, erythema
post-treatment with laser, and melasma concomitant with abnormal dermal vascular activity. It is also suitable for the removal of minor vascular lesions.

Gold Toning using the 595nm wavelength lightens post-acne redness and also helps in the reduction of inflammatory acne by virtue of its characteristics through which vasculature in an abnormal status is returned to its normal state via photobiomodulatory effects. Both 585nm and 595nm are efficient wavelengths, however 595nm is considered more reliable due to its lower absorption in melanin, thus minimising potential side effects such as PIH.

‘RuVY Touch’ 660nm for freckles and other pigmented lesions

Key to the success of the RuVY Touch treatment is its 660nm wavelength. For the removal of epidermal pigmented lesions, 660nm is safer than 532nm because of its lower absorption rate in melanin and oxy- and deoxy-haemoglobin. High peak powered 532nm light energy affects both melanin and vessels, while high peak powered 660nm light energy affects only melanin, leaving the vessels intact.

The 660nm RuVY Touch laser has been shown to be as effective as the 532nm wavelength, but with less risk of post-treatment side effects such as PIH.

‘Tattoo Removal’ 1064nm, 532nm, 585nm, 650nm

Spectra XT offers best in class tattoo removal for all types of coloured tattoos. Using four different wavelengths, the laser targets the ink particles, and the energy shatters them into small fragments which are naturally removed from the body.

‘Revital Treatment’ 1064nm quasi-long pulse

Using a high powered quasi-long pulsed 1064nm wavelength capable of delivering a maximum of 45J in a single second, the Revital Treatment is a powerful tool for promoting collagen remodelling. It targets the deeper skin layer to tighten pores and improve the appearance of wrinkles, with no downtime and instant improvement. Additionally, this treatment can be used to target seborrhea with enlarged facial pores and inflammatory acne lesions with seborrhea.

‘Hollywood Laser/Carbon Spectra Peel’ 1064nm

The Hollywood Laser Peel is a popular no downtime, skin brightening laser facial to improve the appearance of photoageing, including reduction in pigmentation, fine lines and acne scarring.
The dual wavelength technology using the Spectra Mode (300μs) provides photothermal stimulation of the epidermis and dermis as well as neocollagenesis.
