You bring a unique perspective as a nurse practitioner with qualifications in menopause medicine. How has that shaped the way you support women through this stage of life?
Training as a nurse practitioner allows for a strong foundation in both nursing and medicine. It emphasises holistic health and not just managing illness. Studying menopause medicine brings all elements together.
I see menopause as a transition period, rather than a simple collective of symptoms such as hot flushes or brain fog. This perspective frames menopause as a bio-psychosocial transition, an opportunity to explore lifestyle, wellbeing, sexual health, career changes and emotional resilience, not just prescriptions.
Why did you bring Etherea-MX and TESLAChair into your menopause care offering?
Introducing Etherea-MX and TESLA into my menopause care came from a desire to provide women with comprehensive, evidence-based options that address both functional and quality of life concerns, often overlooked in menopause management.
The Etherea platform has many handpieces to help treat oestrogen-deficient skin and hair loss. Each of the modalities can be used to stimulate collagen and elastin production, improve angiogenesis and enhance dermal hydration. What are common concerns women have during menopause, and how do they influence the way you design treatment plans?
I love this question because it gets to the heart of how women experience menopause care. Many women tell me they have felt dismissed or unheard when they have raised menopause concerns in traditional healthcare settings. Yet in a safe, cosmetic environment, away from the very medical atmosphere of general practice, they often confide. It allows for honest conversations about emotional insecurities, sexual dysfunction, work pressures, relationship changes and, of course, skin and hair health.
In fact, up to 64 percent of women attending menopause clinics report skin-related problems linked to oestrogen deficiency, and for some, this may be their only symptom. I often explain that urogenital and facial skin changes share the same hormonal foundation, because oestrogen deficiency is systemic.
Our treatment plans integrate medical, cosmetic and dermal to ensure truly holistic care. The aim is for a good quality of life for women transitioning through menopause and thereafter.

Menopause is a natural life stage that brings a wide range of changes and many of these are under-recognised or under-treated in conventional medical settings, leaving women searching for supportive, non-invasive solutions.
