By combining Infini RF mircroneedling with LaseMD, all skin layers can be effectively rejuvenated with minimal downtime.

Many of the world’s most respected dermatologists, plastic surgeons and aesthetic practitioners use Lutronic energy-based devices in their clinics due to the company’s reliability, performance as well as their commitment to R&D and clinical research.

One of Lutronic’s many ground-breaking devices is Infini, which combines microneedling and fractional radiofrequency to deliver energy into the dermal layers while protecting the skin’s surface.

Infini offers a highly customised approach to treat both the superficial and deeper layers of the skin to achieve noticeable, reproducible improvement of wrinkles, pigmentation, skin laxity and acne scarring – for all skin types and with minimal discomfort and downtime.

The insulated gold-coated microneedles allow for placement, at variable depths, of very fine coagulation zones and deliver precise energy to the required level in the dermis with a greater degree of accuracy. With several passes, multiple different depths are used to create thousands of fractional wounds beneath the skin surface. The key is that the epidermis is spared from the heat transfer so wound care, downtime and risk for post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) are minimised.

“Previously, the most common way to tighten the skin was either by using lasers, which would always damage the surface of the skin, or radiofrequency, which had limitations penetrating to the deeper layers without injuring the surface and also reaching the optimal temperature for collagen response,’ he says.

“The difference with Infini MFR is that you are able to heat deep into the dermis and bypass the surface of the skin. The gold-coated needles are insulated, meaning the heat only travels to the tips of the needles to better protect the epidermis. You can therefore effectively heat the deeper dermis to produce collagen and ultimately encourage the tightening of the skin,’ says facial plastic surgeon Dr Steven Weiner from The Aesthetic Clinique in Florida (who has perfirmed more Infini treatments than any other practitioner in the world).

Combining Infini and LaseMD for enhanced results

Practitioners have uncovered the benefits of pairing Infini MFR with the non-ablative 1927nm fractional thulium laser LASEMD. Also a product of Lutronic, LASEMD facilitates customised skin resurfacing and pigmentation treatments by combining a sophisticated laser system with an exclusive line of cosmeceutical ampoules.

When combined, Infini MFR and LASEMD offer a more comprehensive treatment, where skin concerns are addressed at a deep and superficial level. As the devices work synergistically, more collagen is created than if a single device is used separately. A synergistic effect occurs when Infini MFR and LASEMD are combined which allows practitioners to use low Infini settings with minimal discomfort for the patient, followed by the Advanced Mode of LASEMD.

While Infini MFR is incredibly effective at delivering energy to the skin’s deeper layers, it does not directly address surface issues like pigmentation and superficial fine lines.LASEMD fills this gap by improving the complexion at a surface level.

“The Infini goes deep into the skin to improve the deeper wrinkles and to tighten the skin, but the skin’s surface – including the pigmentation and the superficial fine lines – aren’t treated with the Infini MFR. So the LASEMD comes along and gives a very superficial skin resurfacing, which adds approximately five to 10 minutes to the procedure, without any additional downtime, and improves sun damage, superficial fine lines and wrinkles,” explains Dr Weiner.

“The devices work synergistically because they cause more collagen stimulation than if you use one or the other separately as there’s very little additional time spent doing the procedure, there’s also no additional downtime associated with it and patients see quicker results,” he continues.

“Results from Infini MFR take three to four weeks to kick in and three months to see the full benefit, but the results from the LASEMD can be seen between five and seven days as the skin peels or flakes.”
