Tetra PRO by DEKA introduces a new level of control to CO₂ laser treatments, giving clinicians the ability to adjust both thermal impact and treatment depth across a wide range of indications.
Designed as a single-platform solution, the system allows clinicians to move between superficial rejuvenation (CoolPeel) and deeper dermal correction without changing devices. It combines speed, advanced customisation and refined energy delivery to support consistent outcomes while improving workflow efficiency and expanding treatment capability.
Precision through pulse control

A key differentiator lies in how energy is delivered. Rather than relying on fixed pulse structures, Tetra PRO incorporates Pulse Shape Design technology, allowing clinicians to modify the way laser energy interacts with tissue.
‘What distinguishes Pulse Shape Design from older pulsed CO₂ lasers is that it gives me control over how energy is delivered, not just how much,’ says Dr Nina Wines, Founder Director and Principal Specialist Dermatologist at Northern Sydney Dermatology & Laser.
‘By shaping the pulse rather than simply increasing fluence or density, energy can be delivered with intent, achieving effective tissue interaction while limiting unnecessary thermal spread.’
This level of control allows treatments to be tailored not only to the indication, but also to the patient, their skin type and their tolerance for downtime.
‘Patients rarely present with a single issue,’ Dr Wines says. ‘They may have acne scarring, dyschromia, a lesion requiring resurfacing and textural ageing. Being able to address multiple concerns in one session, efficiently and reliably, has been a significant clinical advantage.’
From low-downtime resurfacing to deeper dermal work
The platform supports a wide range of procedures within a single system, allowing clinicians to move between superficial and deeper treatments by adjusting parameters rather than changing devices.
CoolPeel has become one of the most recognised entry points for CO₂ resurfacing. Designed as a 10-minute treatment, it delivers precise pulses of laser energy to the superficial skin layers while minimising heat build-up, offering visible improvements with predictable recovery and low downtime.
‘CoolPeel allows superficial renewal with minimal thermal injury, making it suitable for patients seeking visible improvement without downtime,’ says Dr Wines. ‘It has also expanded patient engagement with resurfacing more broadly, often serving as a gateway to more advanced treatments when appropriate.’
Beyond superficial treatments, features such as SmartStack and Scar 3 PRO extend the platform’s capabilities into deeper dermal pathology. SmartStack enables energy to be delivered in stacked pulses to the same area, allowing depth to be built gradually while managing thermal impact.
‘The ability to control the ablation-coagulation balance so effectively has been key,’ Dr Wines explains. ‘Rather than excluding these patients from CO₂ resurfacing, I can tailor pulse shape, density and staging to reduce risk while still achieving meaningful results.’
Efficiency and workflow in practice
Speed and usability are also central to the system’s design. Tetra PRO features an expanded 20×20 mm scanner area, translating to treatment times up to 30 percent faster than previous-generation systems.
‘The spot size allows for rapid treatments, and the handpiece is light, ergonomic and easy to rotate, which improves efficiency and reduces operator fatigue,’ Dr Wines says.
The ability to consolidate multiple treatment approaches within one platform has also had a broader operational impact.
‘Having one platform capable of both low-downtime resurfacing and advanced scar treatment has streamlined workflows and broadened our service offering,’ she says.
‘From a business perspective, a platform that supports everything from delicate light peels to medium treatments and more intensive resurfacing allows practices to grow sustainably without repeated reinvestment.’
