The must-attend aesthetic medical conference, COSMEDICON 2021, will be held on 4–7 March 2021 at the exclusive InterContinental Hotel in Sydney’s Double Bay. The trade show and scientific program will be held over two days, Friday 5 and Saturday 6 March 2021.

Along with most aspects of our lives, aesthetic medicine has been affected by COVID-19 both from a clinical perspective and how educational opportunities are undertaken. But with all Australian states now easing restrictions on movement around the country, COSMEDICON 2021 is shaping up to be the first opportunity in a year for aesthetic medical practitioners to gather, face-to-face network and learn.

As in past iterations, COSMEDICON 2021 will continue to place an emphasis on the quality of the scientific program, the experience of the speakers and the open sharing of knowledge between attendees. It is a multi-disciplinary conference that welcomes medical health practitioners from all streams and holds that practitioner education is the key to patient safety. It encourages excellence in all aspects of cosmetic medicine – not only in clinical practice but also through business strategies on how to effectively set up, manage and eventually on-sell an aesthetic medical practice.

Scientific Program

COSMEDICON 2021 has curated a two-day scientific program that will feature prominent international and local thought leaders delivering their insights and practice pearls on the most relevant topics, such as ‘How not to disappear down the rabbit hole’, cutting edge techniques and products in minimally invasive cosmetic practice, including facial rejuvenation, body sculpting, skincare and laser. It also features two breakfast workshops and numerous workshops concurrent with the plenary sessions.

Workshops

In addition to the scientific program, the COSMEDICON 2021 preconference program includes a full-day workshop hosted by EnVogue Skin. It will consist of a didactic course and live demonstration of combination therapies using injectables and threadlifting techniques and is free to all delegates registered for the scientific program.

Thursday also features an intensive multimodal didactic Facial Injectable Training (FIT) and Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation Techniques for Beginners. This full-day course is designed to introduce the Scope of Practice and deliver some familiarity to allow a practitioner to start their aesthetic practice.

Rounding out our pre-conference program on Thursday is the Advanced Cosmetic Nurse Injector Workshop. This is a full-day program catering to the experienced cosmetic nurse injector. The program includes a focus on safety, research, anatomy and novel uses for cosmetic injectables. It will also have case study presentations, an advanced live injecting session and an expert panel discussion offering opinions on the topics of the day.

The post-conference full-day program, includes the Business of Beauty, which delves into the practicalities of running and managing a successful business and is open to practice managers, aestheticians, dermal clinicians, nurses and allied professionals. It features business strategies, practice management pearls and new techniques at the intersection of aesthetic and cosmetic practice.

Finally on Sunday, Bravura Education and COSMEDICON will host Laser and IPL Officer Training Certification. This course is suitable for anyone who operates a laser or IPL device or who is taking on the responsibility of being a laser safety officer no matter what health environment they work within. It is for beginners or as a refresher.

Social Functions

In true Bella Media fashion, COSMEDICON 2021 will host a lavish and fun social program – the Welcome Drinks in the Stillery Bar and the ‘Studio 54’ Gala Dinner at the InterContinental, Double Bay – rounding out the industry’s most energetic and engaging aesthetic medical conference.
