Aesthetic Medical Practitioner magazine came to life at COSMEDICON 2020, held on 5-8 March, 2020 at the InterContinental Hotel in Sydney’s Double Bay.

Flocked by an audience of cosmetic doctors, plastic surgeons, cosmetic surgeons, dermatologists, aesthetic nurses and clinic owners, COSMEDICON 2020 offered a unique, multi-disciplinary forum to address matters of interest and concern to the industry, plus plenary presentations catering to all levels of expertise.

The two-day scientifi c program featured prominent international and local thought leaders delivering their insights and practice pearls on the most relevant and cutting-edge techniques and products in minimally invasive cosmetic practice, including facial rejuvenation, body sculpting, skincare and laser.

Highlights of the two-day plenary program included ‘Through the looking glass – different perspectives of “normal”’, proposing the questions: What is ‘normal’ in aesthetic medicine? What if I have a different aesthetic appreciation to my patients? And how do we know when enough is enough?, as well as a comprehensive session on risk assessment and safety in aesthetic medicine.

In addition to the scientific program, COSMEDICON also featured two breakfast workshops plus seven workshops running concurrently with the plenary sessions.

The highly praised post-conference full-day program, the ‘Business of Beauty’, delved into the practicalities of running and managing a successful business and focused on business strategies, practice management pearls and new techniques at the intersection of beauty and cosmetic practice.

The conference encouraged excellence in all aspects of cosmetic medicine – not only in clinical practice and safety but also through business strategies on how to effectively set up, manage and eventually on-sell an aesthetic medical practice, as well as expert advice from some of today’s leading social media influencers.

Of course, no Bella Media event would be complete without a social extravaganza. Delegates and trade enjoyed networking Welcome Drinks hosted by Device Consulting and an entertainment-packed “Rat Pack”– Gala Dinner hosted by Mara Aesthetics.

Next year’s COSMEDICON will be held at the same venue from 4-7 March, 2021. Put it in your diary now and watch for our speaker updates and learning opportunities. AMP
