The Pastelle is currently rewriting what Q-Switched lasers can achieve in the treatment of epidermal and dermal pigmented lesions.

The Pastelle Q-Switched laser, distributed in Australia by Cryomed, offers powerful, stable and reliable treatment for a wide range of medical and cosmetic indications. It is fast becoming recognised as a market leader for its ease of use and versatile applications. It’s equipped with three major modes and wavelengths: 1064nm, 532nm and the additional “Genesis laser mode”.

PastelleThe key advantage of the Pastelle laser is the lack of side effects it produces. Most laser toning has a number of side effects, including reoccurrence of pigments and partial de-pigmentation, but Pastelle drastically reduces these side effects as well as the pain. Patients who have used this device say there is no pain; just a warm sensation.

The Pastelle uses the Photoacoustic Twin Pulse (PTP) mode, which constantly delivers twin-pulsed, high-output energy at very short intervals. As a pulse is divided into two, a lesser risk for injury to the surrounding tissue, lesser pain during treatments and a quicker healing time is made possible. Treatments with PTP mode are associated with less hypopigmentation, post- inflammatory hyperpigmentation and reduced pain during the procedure, as compared to single pulse lasers.

“The Pastelle is the benchmark Q-switched laser,” says Sydney Cosmetic Dermatologist and Phlebologist Dr Adrian Lim. “We have tried other devices but none come close to matching Pastelle’s reliability and performance. All of our patients love the Pastelle.”

EASE OF USE AND RELIABILITY

A quick and easy-to-use auto calibration function provides precise and stable energy every time you start a treatment. The output is automatically calibrated in Pastelle by constantly checking it in real time with a photo diode in the optical path. “The intuitive dial-up feature is easy to operate and safeguards against user error that can happen with other devices,” Dr Lim explains.

The newly designed laser head enables continuous and consistent energy output with stable power: 1,600mJ at 1064nm, 2,000mJ in PTP Mode and 3,500mJ in Genesis Mode. This allows user confidence throughout the entire treatment without the worry of unreliability in power delivery.

Optional hand pieces

Multi-dye hand pieces with 660nm and 585nm wavelengths enable the Pastelle to treat stubborn and difficult to remove green and blue ink.

An optional fractional hand piece with a spot size adjustable from 5×5 to 9x9mm decreases thermal damage in the dermis and allows for quicker healing and recovery time.

Fast Fact

Regular lasers utilise a single wavelength to deliver energy to target tissue. Common targets in skin are pigment, blood and water. Q-Switched lasers are a special category of lasers that can deliver energy in extremely short bursts. As a result, this unique property makes it an ideal laser for treating pigment-related conditions such as freckles, sunspots, birthmarks or tattoos. The ultra-short bursts of energy delivered by the laser disrupt the pigment-containing cells within the skin, leading to fading and clearing of the treated area.
