Two practices share their experience using the popular microneedling fractional RF device, INFINI.

INFINI combines customisable fractional RF energy and micro-needling to achieve noticeable, reproducible improvement of wrinkles, pigmentation, skin laxity and acne scarring. The synergistic combination of RF energy and microneedling has been reported to help achieve a 3D tightening of the skin and improvement of photoaged skin.

We profile two clinics using INFINI and how this popular device delivers in practice.

INFINI combines two proven modalities in the one treatment: micro-needling and radiofrequency (RF) energy. This combination treats both the superficial and the deeper layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production at the dermal layer as well as improving the skin’s texture and tone, bringing a youthful luminosity to the skin.

The therapist’s ability to manipulate the energy level of the RF and the needle depth according to the patient’s needs means treatment is tailored to each individual and their concerns.

INFINI is ideal for those seeking overall rejuvenation of their skin; reducing fine lines and wrinkles; improving skin laxity; refining the appearance of pores; or treating acne scarring.

By improving the collagen base, the structure that support the skin, INFINI is able to address all of these concerns.

We like to refer to INFINI as micro-needling on steroids. What we really mean is that INFINI gives visible results very quickly without the side effects often seen with other micro-needling systems.

Because the RF energy is being delivered simultaneously, there is controlled coagulation at the dermal layer, allowing the skin to heal quicker without the associated redness of conventional micro-needling that more sensitive skins experience.

This coagulation also stimulates a stronger wound healing response in the dermal layer, triggering the formation of collagen without damage to the superficial layers of the skin. It’s a win-win situation for those looking for a skin treatment that delivers real results with negligible downtime.

For rejuvenation, we recommend three treatments 5-6 weeks apart, and then yearly maintenance treatments. Our patients never fail to rebook and we have seen patients returning yearly.

For scarring we use a similar approach, using different levels of energy and depth of treatment. The severity of the scarring, the patient’s response and expectations determine the number of INFINI treatments required.

INFINI is distributed by Advanced Cosmeceuticals, which I have found to be a highly professional, warm and wonderfully pleasant company to deal with. We believe this is a flow-through from Catherine Biedermann’s own personal commitment to AC as their Managing Director.

Their training is thorough and delivered professionally and generously. Marketing support is actively given and the price of the consumables are negligible – it’s a refreshing change in this industry. It allows us to make such a results-driven, proven treatment more widely available to a broader range of client.

The bottom line is: the treatment really works, and this is manifested in our patients’ enthusiasm for the treatment, their recommendations and their return business.

Radiofrequency has been around for over 10 years and works by heating the skin to a level that stimulates collagen production. Traditional devices have delivered the energy from the outside in, with limited results and a considerable level of client discomfort.

INFINI is unique as it leverages microneedling to deliver the RF energy directly into the dermis at the precise calibrated depth.

These tiny gold-plated needles create microscopic tunnels allowing the RF energy to reach the targeted deeper layers for skin tightening. INFINI is able to induce CIT and skin tightening while not heating or injuring the top layer of the skin, making it a safer treatment for all skin types with minimal downtime.

The initial attraction to INFINI was the ability to offer clients both modalities in a single treatment. It enables a multilayered approach that allows us to customise treatments that are quick, have minimal downtime and offer greater comfort than traditional skin tightening procedures.

INFINI has become our go-to device, and we are seeing impressive results with wrinkles and fine lines, dull or rough skin texture, loss of volume beneath skin, sagging skin, and skin laxity. In particular, its ability to treat acne scarring on all skin types and colours, and also for those who are not candidates for laser treatment due to inflammatory hyperpigmentation concerns, is also impressive.

Although some clients notice improvement with a single session, we typically recommend a minimum of three needling followed by a single RF treatment. Additional sessions may be needed to address excess laxity or acne scars.

Patient feedback has been positive and surpassed our expectations, and generally theirs. We under-promise and INFINI over-delivers.

We’ve received fantastic support and follow-through from Advanced Cosmeceuticals – any questions the doctors or therapists have raised have been answered immediately. Importantly, consumables are considerably less costly than traditional RF devices, meaning we can offer the treatments to clients at a competitive and manageable cost.

The device is a workhorse for us; it does not sit in a corner gathering dust due to the prohibitive cost of consumables being passed on to clients.
