Hair restoration is big business. According to the 2015 statistics from the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, hair transplants have increased 76 percent from 2006 to 2014. And the total market size for hair restoration has increased 28 percent since 2012, from US$1.9 billion to $2.5 billion.
Approximately 397,000 hair restoration procedures were performed world-wide in 2014; 84.7 percent of procedures were perfomed on men, while 15.3 percent were performed on women, That being said, female hair restoration surgical procedures saw a 12 percent increase from 2012 to 2014, and non-surgical treatments a 21 percent increase.
