DATE: 23 – 27 September 2016
WHERE: Los Angeles Convention and Exhibition Centre

Renowned plastic and reconstructive surgeons from around the world presented the latest research abstracts and findings at the American Society of Plastic Surgeons’ 85th annual Plastic Surgery The Meeting.

More than 3,000 delegates attended the meeting and it provided an extraordinary opportunity for sharing of knowledge in order to help surgeons around the world improve patient outcomes and experiences.

Over 150 abstracts, covering all areas of surgical interest, were presented Saturday through Monday, with a heavy emphasis on patient reported outcomes as well as long term – five, 10 and 20 year – data collection. A variety of papers discussed different experiences between immediate, or direct, breast reconstruction, compared to the more historically conventional two-step approach, as well as transgender operative procedures.

The Hot Topics Session included:
• Female Rejuvenation Surgery vs. Non Surgery
• Deaths Due to Fat Grafting to the Buttocks
• Transversus Abdominus Plane (TAP): Anaesthetic Block for Tummy Tuck
• Off-label Uses of Kybella
• Prepectoral Prosthetic Based Breast Reconstruction
• Nano Surface Implants
• Bulb Fat Injector (Tulip)
• Anti-Aging: Basis
• Laser Non-Invasive Body Sculpting

“ASPS carefully considered the newest developments in plastic and reconstructive surgery and identified the leading experts in each innovation. We are proud to present a wide array of fascinating sessions this year,” said David H. Song, MD, MBA, President of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
